Stamblade has a hard rotation?

Honestly before the Summerset patch I never felt bad on a stamblade. I should tell you I have only done a couple of trials so I'm by no means experienced and my rotation isn't amazing, I was mostly PvPing before. But after the patch, mostly when playing Solo in the open world I just feel like i'm having much more nervous fights where my damage seems far worse than before.
I do think I will change to Magblade though, even just for a chance in style and something new. I definitely need to finally do VMA

Stam rotations are all pretty easy, but stamblade is a step above the rest. So yes, it has a hard rotation comparatively. Nightblade in general requires perfect weave and for you to manage a seperate skill (merciless/relentless). No other class has anything even remotely comparable to that. Mageblade rotation is harder, but stamblade is as hard as stamina gets, and frankly harder than any other magic class IMO. If you think its easy, more props to you.Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »If you feel weak on a stamblade, I frankly question your rotation and build. If you want to do VMA, definitely go mageblade. It's doable on stam, but mageblade will be so much easier to learn it.

I only play a stam blade so I guess because I have 800 PVE hours in it, it just feels fluent and relatively straight forward. That said.. I'm going to level a Magblade now and I'm hoping I can pick it up quickly but we will see.

My guess is you will pick it up faster than most. The real trick is to manage merciless, which you obv have experience with. I will be interested to here what rotation you find harder to master. Mageblade has a lot of advantages, and you will definitely feel more survivable, but I am guessing it will take a little bit until you see the damage you want.
I say mageblade is harder than stamblade from a pure rotaiton standpoint, frankly, because I see a bigger gap between my parses and the best of the best parses on magic than I do on stam. Stam is always going to play tougher than magic in most content from a durability standpoint, but if I am just standing on a dummy, I found the stam rotation easier to execute because the rotation is at least somewhat circular.
Mageblade reminds me of the first time I tried to learn to juggle 4 balls after having spent a lot of time juggling 3.

Yeah dude, I'll let you know. Problem is I just leveled mages guild up and now I am level 30 and gonna grind it out so it may be a day or so. THEN I need gear. Any recommendations on gear to start out? I Do NOT have an inferno staff yet (Lightning staff) but I figured it won't make or break me and I plan on getting it soon anyways. Oddly enough, I'm a scrub sometimes and didn't save up a lot of gear because I never thought about making another character....
I also can see your point. I can hit ~47 - 49K non cheese with my stamblade, but imagine there is a learning curve here.

You really dont need mages guild all the way maxed, but I feel you. Cant remember what levels the magic passives max out. Inner light is the only skill you really use in PVE. Obviously you want the biggest magic boost you can get from slotting it, but all the other passives and skills really arent necessary.
On another note, Elemental Weapon from the psijic line is really strong on mageblade. I would recomend funnel when learning it, but from a pure DPS standpoint, EW is a few K ahead.

Speaking of Summerset... I heard despite Acuity being nerfed, that people's DPS increased due to light attacks doing more?

My mageblade DPS is up 6-7k on a dummy. Not quite apples to apples as I am running different sets and can now slot a monster set on a dummy, but yes, it is a noticeable power increase. Biggest we have seen from a patch in quite some time, and I also dont have Siroria yet, which is clearly BIS.
LZH is up about 8k on a 6 million health dummy. He went from approx 41k to 49k from last patch based on his build videos.
For what it's worth I went from (on a 6 mil) pulling 39k ish with BSW/Mech Acuity, 1 Kena to about 46k with BSW/Mother's Sorrow, Zaan, and elemental weapon on my mageblade. Running EW requires you to swap Crippling grasp and Twisting Path to maintain your magicka flood passives, which admittedly is still throwing me off a bit. There is definitely more there with my gear, and certainly more with Siroria.
Also if you are on xbox, buy up any Mother's Sorrow inferno staff you can find. Even in training, they are going for 4-500k on PC.
