Give me a reason to play Magden

I love that Warden gives me an almost Druid vibe and I liked the idea of a Magicka based Warden but then I did the unthinkable, I googled! I saw multiple discussions on how underwhelming they are in PvE and how I'd be better (as an Altmer fanboy) going Magsorc. Would it really be masochistic of me to go Magden and not Magsorc?

To not copy the mag sorc too much, I'd recommend to build warden dd on frost (ice Staff with or without tri-passive). For sure magsorc is op, especially with recent addition to •Lightning Flood (Lightning Splash morph): This morph now also increases the damage done by approximately 15%.
    Now it's around 4k dmg per sec x 6 sec and non-crit damage :o .

No idea why only magsorc got the damage increase, for the skill that was already powerful enough, and not the warden.
PC EU (PL): 14 characters. ESO player since 06.08.2015. Farkas finest quote: "Some people don't think I'm smart. Those people get my fist. But you, I like."

Magden isn’t completely useless, but it is harder to play, and has slightly lower DPS than magsorc. The main thing about magden is that you will rely on the pet bear to do a significant portion of your damage, which means certain mechanics that are not pet friendly can make you weak. It is also more single target based, while Sorc has more area and splash damage.

All that being said, you can complete any content in the game with magden. The only place it is not great is for competitive trial leaderboard scores.

Edit: Here is a reason for you, Magden is the only class that can effectively utilize the Master Architect set without having to run into melee distance.

The change to lightning flood wasn’t much of a buff. It was previously a useless morph, and was brought up to be more in line with liquid lightning. It now gives a choice between a larger area or a longer duration, but overall DPS is about the same.

Didn't know Magden lacked on AoE, I tend to like bursting down a group. Guess its Sorc for me :/ Shame Frost is a tank spec.

Nah, don't give up! I asked the very same question awhile back and got awesome feedback. Loving the class!

They have more AoE than nightblades, but not as much as Sorc. Magdens do have excellent burst.
