What's making Templars 2nd on the list?
jasonthorpeb14_ESO wrote: »What's making Templars 2nd on the list?
Templars damage is super low because all of our damage skills are channels. Our passives are mostly out dated or broken. In PvP we are extremely vulnerable to burst damage while fighting because of the nature of our skills(unless your built like a tank). Our execute is worthless unless we are in a situation where we outnumber the opponent. We have terrible sustain. The whole "house" concept attached to our buffs make it so we cant move in a meta that puts a great emphasis on mobility. Also our main dps skill "sweeps" is mitigated by 3 CP stars. If someone straifs from left to right inside our rectangle of damage from sweeps 80% of the damage misses. The combined continued nerf to all our utility skills and healing combined with our already low damage makes pvping on a templar crazy hard.

@Tasear Its using Balance for sustain. While it is pretty good DPS, its a rough build that isnt friendly to 90% of the population.

It needs to be noted that this video was taken before the light attack nerf in PTS patch 4.0.2 (all classes were parsing over 50k at that time). Patch 4.0.2 reduced light attack damage by 20%.
Using Balance also skews DPS parses. Other classes can hit the same (and even higher) DPS numbers without it. It gives the illusion that warden DPS is close to other classes, when in reality, it isn't.
Even with Balance, warden still parses lower than any other class. Without it, the gap widens noticeably. And without the bear ultimate, the DPS gap between magden and the next worst class (in this case, magplar) becomes the size of the Grand Canyon.
It's such a horrendously underpowered class I have no idea how it got past QA in this state. But what's worse is how ZOS has completely ignored the class for over a year now. It's a slap in the face to everyone who bought the chapter to play this class. But what else can you expect from ZOS?

Wardens see just 2% representation on leader boards. If it were possible to achieve good DPS with them, it would have been figured out by now.

Easy buffs:
- Increase the damage buff that Advanced Species gives to 4% per Animal Companion skill slotted
- Make the bear a single bar ability (the current Eternal Guardian morph doesn't do anything, it just spawns the bear for you, which is actually annoying since it interrupts your rotation; spawning the bear doesn't cost any ultimate, so the morph is actually providing zero value)
- Increase the damage of Fetcher Infection by 20% (both the first and second cast)
None of this would affect PvP balance while making the class much more viable in PvE.
It would also be nice if they made warden animation length consistent with other class skills. Right now, a lot of warden skills need part of their animation to play out before they can be cancelled (see Netch and Lotus). Other class' skills can be cancelled immediately.

Sorry, but PvP Magwarden is in dire need of buffs. No idea where your getting the vibe from that you need to state that your changes wouldn't affect PvP balance, when changes affecting PvP balance is exactly what we need?
Tired of all those balance suggestions that only take one side of the coin into consideration. That's in my honest opinion exactly what was leading to getting magWarden PvP skills nerfed into oblivion without any recompensation.

MagDen is in a far better place PvP than PvE. Yes it's not great, but it has a huge burst combo, decent healing and a good defensive skill. Not to mention his idea of Advance Species buff and Single bar Bear would be pretty darn good PvP buffs. If you could single bar the bear, Mag Den wouldn't the s o.j. ngle hardest hitting Insta skill in the game with a CC5 and execute to boot. To work in Cryodiil the Bear should ideally get a survivability buff too.

I disagree. Aren't you playing a PvP tank spec? Yeah, warden can tank easily. But there is no excuse for having no class cc on demand. Our main burst combo got crippled through timing & cc changes. Bear will never (!!!) be viable in fast paced pvp like battlegrounds, this is not the way to go. We need a hard cc, end of story.

@Tasear Its using Balance for sustain. While it is pretty good DPS, its a rough build that isnt friendly to 90% of the population.
stileanima 4.0.1 PTS parsehttps://youtu.be/cs1YV7eK8Qk
I believe they are trying their best. Maybe the future would be better?
Yeah, they're not trying their best. Warden hasn't had a noteworthy buff since its implementation. Only nerfs.
ZOS is ignoring it, and they know it. The question is why.
Maybe it's something we are missing? Some exceptionally dps tipping the scales? Just seems wierd.
Incompetence. The balance team is completely out of touch with class performance in this game.
Wardens see just 2% representation on leader boards. If it were possible to achieve good DPS with them, it would have been figured out by now.
I am sure you said already, but what would you change?

I was only answering the question @MLGProPlayer yes that parse is from pre LA nerf, bower pre Summerset Stileanima still has a 45k parse video. I also started it not an average player friendly build aka Balance. Regardless, inbSumnerset that build is the highest parse and I have seennit used in trials. So for the die hard Wardens like Tesear and you and me, that's what we have to work with. Warden, especially Magden definitely needs help however 90% of the suggestion that people put out are actually nerfs to non DPS Wardens. That is the only reason I am often on the Warden pros side of pros/cons argumentsEasy buffs:
- Increase the damage buff that Advanced Species gives to 4% per Animal Companion skill slotted

Not sure about the Advance species idea, that would make Shalks stronger. The other 2 I can get behind

They are second because of HealBots. Yes Magplar damage is badly lacking but their survivablity can still be extremly high. While MagDen have better mobility, they dont have as good surviablity and their mobility means nothing against Stampede, Invasion, Ambush.
You also seem to be a PvP player, where MagDen is stronger in comparison to PvE. While neither class has a place in PvE DPS, Magplar is still BiS Healer, and still provides a group DPS buff. While MagDen only provides a group health buff, which people dont particularly value. In part because it has high up-time via War Horn.
I am actually pretty impressed by how well the votes line up with what I see as who needs buffed the most.
