Cost of playing ESO is whatever you spend a month for your internet connection plus electricity used. Anything else is fluff thats completely optional.

- The money from current subscribers even though they betrayed all subscribers by breaking their promise about DLC access.
- The money from selling new boxes as a B2P game.
- All of the annoyance, advertising, p2w and loot crates of a FTP game.
Why not eat your sweetroll and have it too?

(For that matter, why do you have a problem with f2p/b2p MMOs having an optional sub-for-bonuses program? It's pretty typical of the genre. I've played a bunch of games with an optional sub.... Star Trek, Secret World, TERA, SWTOR, etc.)

three model together = all at the same time.. they are not doing anything right.. they lock plenty of stuff behind sub wall, so some player felt the need to sub to play. they have overpriced cash shop which make it seem like f2p game... they sale expansion and base game.. which make it b2p....... like i said.. drop eso+ or pick up sub model.. please one type of player is usually more benefitical then *** off everyone.

I agree. To add to this:
• Don't advertise items already purchased - fix the drop down so that items I've purchased (appropriately) do not display in the Crown Store. This is not a programmatic mistake, but unethical marketing that could cause a community member to make an unnecessary purchase
• Pay-2-Win - note: I had this discussion with my guild, and I may be misinformed about the research scrolls. I had no issue with the strategy of the Crown Store prior to Scalecaller, but now I fear the game is turning into a Pay-2-Win environment that will not only divide the community, but poison it with the addition of Gifting and cooldowns on research scrolls (limitations on earned in-game items). Toxic effects from this will lead to an increase in scams, bots, farming and disruptive community behaviours that are completely opposite of what this game was built on. We have amazing players that not only care for the game in its entirety, but care for its community as well.
I'm considered a "whale" who is ZOS' ideal customer, but like I said, I don't believe in the recent manipulations in advertising or the gouging. While Crown Store items are still typically considered a choice, the cooldowns on research scrolls is a push to limiting free-play activities and gifting is something you would see in a korean or chinese game. And this is just the start.
This may not seem like a huge change (or issue) for the community in its infancy, but if you really think about the effects this has on the future of ESO... it is dangerous for both parties. Many of us have invested a lot of time and money into this game and I would hate for this game to crumble or be replaced by a TESO 2....
Please share, support, and add your own opinions.

they are derperate because they are not making enough money, they are not making enough money because they are running a hybrid model that please no one.
p.s. eso is a mmo, it is not single player. selling dlc/expansion further divide player base into small group, which discourage team play.. and make outdated content hard to play........ which is why i believe they should choose one..

Again, your premise is false.
Look at major MMOs that have required subscriptions, besides there being few they also have cash shops and selling expansions is also normal for subscription model MMOs.
If thinking new content would be available to all if ESO required a subscription is not correct.
If thinking the cash shop would go away if ESO required a subscription is not correct.

That's only on steam as well, the majority of the players already had it before it even hit steam.

if this is the only mmo on earth, they might. but is it?
The game can't be sub only because of consoles, not many console players are willing to pay for an MMO sub on top of their online service.
