Unable to load Meta file

New installation, getting this error with 0% downloaded. Does this coincide with the server being down or is this a separate issue. I've restarted several times and deleted the launcher and re-installed it 3 times now.

Error 102 DownloadError_InvalidMetaFile

    Bumping this, as there is no answer on the website other than contact customer support. Really hoping someone else here has found a way to resolve this

    My guess would be that it is related to them getting ready to push a new patch. But I really have no idea why it shouldn't allow you to begin your installation and get the patch later.

    So, new patch...still can't even get the dang launcher to work, no answer from customer support either.

    Mine started patching. Then it stopped because of some 'WebGet request failed' error. So I relaunched my client. Now I can't update because of I'm getting the 102 error. I've restarted the client a few times now. I also reconnected to my ISP.

    What I did try is go to Settings > Auto Update "Never" and then relaunched the client. I hit UPDATE button and now it's trying to download the patch again. I am still getting the WebGet request failed though but at least it's not Error 102. I'll try another ISP and see if that works.

    I've tried reinstalling, installing to a different drive, turning off auto update, uninstall from control panel, uninstall directly from the folder using the provided uninstaller, clicked repair and nothing, clicked installer help and nothing, contact customer support and nothing. I'm going to bump the hell out of this until someone takes notice

    I have spent the last 8 hours straight trying to resolve this issue, I am certain it is not the ISP, I am certain none of the fixes they have said to try work.

    I have been a programmer/computer specialist for the last 10 years, and I gotta admit this one is stumping me if it isn't on their end.

    I have rebuilt computers with corrupted and missing registry keys easily, but this is rocket science at this point.

    Customer service has given me a few generic responses then the last message is they are forwarding it to a "specialist".

    BUMP it for me too.

    I've been dealing with this for about 24 hours. If there isn't a fix, then refund it is. First day of head start is out the window

    This is what I get on ping and tracert, all appears normal.

    Tracert shows no lost packets, 11 hops to destination 70ms is highest across all instances.

    Again this isn't a connection problem, ResMon shows firewall status: "allowed, not restricted"

    Ports have been forwarded, and yet here I sit with no game.

Nevertheless, in order for me to try to help you I can inform you that Error 102 - DownloadError_InvalidMetafile indicates an issue with the client patcher itself. We believe we have resolved the root cause of this issue. Affected players will need to restart their patchers.

    You people honestly think I haven't restarted the patcher? Seriously, I've "restarted" your stupid patcher a hundred times.

    Bump, because it's still not working and there has been nothing from support since their first completely useless email

    I would also like to add that my first email from yesterday was never answered, only the second one from the flurry I sent today. I also left information for them to call me to try and get this sorted out via their support phone option. I'm going to give you guys another couple of hours to at least respond to this thread or my emails, or call me.

    That really is useless. I can't stand generic replies with such false cheeriness. They really have got be less stupid in their approach, read and reply what the problem is about and be real about how they talk to people. I'd suggest deleting the registry keys for anything Bethesda, Zenimax and ESO, but I think we're beyond that. I know I had to uninstall and re-install twice cos something went wrong and when it asked if I wanted to overwrite the existing launcher installation, it missed off the buttons for "OK" and "Cancel" :(
    If at first you don't succeed, keep trying. And again. Eat a cookie, read a wiki, I dunno, just try to relax, the frustration will only give you a headache.

    Just deleted everything, registry keys, uninstalled, etc. Reinstalled the launcher with a client download I got today. Can't download metafile

    you are causing to much of a load on the server from your location... Mega servers don't work.. for high populations.. only work with low population.. every game using mega (shard) servers fails on lunch.. every game.. so you'll alway have lag.. i have a 1.7MBs connection to the game server...so whats the deal.. well they have too much memory. not enough processing power... data get choked off....

    Try running the launcher specifically as Administrator. Worked for me. (Know its an old post but had the error again and this is the top search hit.)
