Did jewelry crafting change at all on live?

I haven't seen any concrete information on jewelry crafting in live. Is it still 10/1 for grains to upgrade materials. Are the upgrade materials still dropping at the same rate as pts? Did anything improve from pts?

It will probably require a little more time and intensive testing to check rates and stats, but you should expect it to be about the same as it was on PTS. Even if there were changes, I'm almost certain there was nothing substantial done.

Depends on when you looked on PTS. I think they improved availability of seams in one patch. Live matches latest patch state.

Funny, because questing in Reaper's March last night I found ONE seam the couple hours I quested there... I found a ton of metal nodes, but only the one seam... and the questing population in RM was extremely low last night. So WHERE are all these seams- I heard they were now shared with metal nodes, but then why am I finding almost all metal nodes and just the seam? Honestly, this seems like a big FU to players who have been complaining about wanting Jewelry crafting... they add it but then make it extremely difficult for anyone to actually use it.

You could check the patch notes, but basically, no nothing changed.

I did read the patch notes but they were short on specifics. No numbers as far as I remember.

Thanks I was worried that would be the answer. So thankful they listened to all our feedback (sarcasm).

The seams are shared with metal nodes. When I tested it on the PTS (before the increase of seams) I found that roughly 25% of ore nodes had been replaced with seams. They were very easy to find on my farming routes on the PTS since there was zero competition.

I highly recommend looking for seams in zones where you know where the ore nodes are, as it makes it much easier to not overlook them. Then, keep in mind that people are just grabbing the seams with lots of competition.

I was farming in Wrothgar yesterday and while I wouldn't say I found plenty of seams, I did find enough seams that I wouldn't call them absurdly rare.

I will reiterate the bolded... I was in Reaper's March there was nobody else in the questing locations I was in, still found only ONE seam and the rest were metal. No I don't know RM node locations, I wasn't looking for Seams specifically, but still the fact that what I did find almost all were metal nodes... so if only 25% were changed to seams, they need to change it to 50% for the first couple of months.

My point is that if you farm in a zone where you dont know where the nodes are, its not going to seem like 25% (higher really, since ZOS increased it). I specifically farmed routes I knew on the PTS to get an idea of the base rate before competition on Live.

They seem incredibly rare. They arent, its just competition and not knowing where to look that makes it seem that way.

Like you, I saw lots more ore nodes than seams. But because I knew where to look in Wrothgar or there was less competition, I found more seams.

My first hour or so was also in Reapers March, and there it went pretty slowly. As the evening went on, things got better (I wasn't farming nodes, just picking up ones I saw on the way to and from treasure map spots.) For the effort I put in, I have a decent amount of refined mats currently. It's tempers and trait materials that seem to me to be more of an issue; I have no refined trait materials and only one green plating. So as long as I want to make white jewelery without a trait, I'm all set

This is like columbine during the early game. If you farm for seams, grab the ore nodes too. This increases the chance for them to spawn again as a seam.
