The answer is yes. You can only really 1vX players who are worse than you. In theory, if you are fighting somebody equally talented at the same CP with comparably effective setups- the fight should be a draw and go on indefinitely until somebody gets bored, runs out of pots, gets run over by a zerg, or some other outside influence disrupts the fight. So any additional numbers would sway the fight against you. I might be able to kite players of equal or better skill into 1v1s, but not fight them outright.
But 1vXs are still fun to watch (for me, at least); and the types of fights vary dramatically. I record very few fights where everyone is low level- because it's not impressive or exciting. Many of the players in these videos were higher than me in both CP and Alliance Rank (CP830, AR25-30). As you can see from the video, those titles are not determinate of skill, but it's not like these guys bought the game yesterday either.
The impressive part of any fight is outplaying an enemy, and it's why I like to feature fights of different sizes. I felt similarly accomplished (if maybe a little less dramatic) about winning the 1v2 I had near the end of the video as I did about the 2vX at the beginning of the video, because they were both fights I had to think about and navigate carefully.
tl;dr: People who I 1vX are theoretically always worse than me, but they are not all equally bad, and some are considered 'good' by many other players, misled as they may be.

It's so disgusting to see everyone plays stamNBs now I'm not playing mine anymore. They are a plague that needs to be eradicated.
So most of these people died from poison inject + crit rush + Selenes' + reverse slice and you think it's because Nightblades are OP? No, not even close. Stamblades are just fine and need no adjustments. You'll be happy to know that they're getting hit hard next update:
No more crit heals from Shadowy disguise, and anyone wearing Sloads'will prevent the Nightblade from cloaking.

Do you mean that when the set damage procs the NB won't be able to stealth? Kinda like Vicecanon of Venom or Sheer Venom?

The Oblivion damage from Sloads' is not suppressed by shadowy disguise, and if you try to go invisible while it's active it'll break your invisibility. This set is a hard counter to Nightblades that like to go invisible (which is the grand majority).

Oh yeah! Wrecking potatoes can be extremely entertaining. ha ha If I Ambush someone, though, and my 48K crit makes a heavy metallic "TONK!" sound and they only take 3K of that damage....I usually wuss out and run. LOL Edited to add that, er...if they're on my level. Oh, and the folks I refer to who do a lot of Youtube vids aren't just having fun. They're making themselves out to be top tier players. Maybe they are, but when 8/10's of the people you see them wrecking are CP 350 and under it takes some of the "cool" out of it.
Hmmm... I’ve played NB since day 1 until I hit Grand Overlord on him, through thick and thin. I got to legate almost exclusively from IC duels. I play Stamplar, MagPlar, and MagDK. I can tell you that those three classes can be built to be every bit as strong 1v1 as stam NB and offer WAY more group utility. Let me ask you this, what’s changed with Stamblade all of a sudden that makes the class suddenly OP. What buffs have they received to catapult this class into the stratosphere. None. The class has been systematically nerfed, directly and indirectly, along with almost every other class.SpiderCultist wrote: »Translation - I’m a potato that needs everything nerfed down to my level. P.S. good vid
Translation - I'm a new NB who enjoys being OP while it lasts. What's the fun at playing a class that is clearly overperforming? Do you find it challenging? I just pointed out the obvious and more than that, I said I played one until we were legion. Now I stick to my mNB.
P.S. Nevertheless, I liked his video on youtube, that does not diminish what I wrote: ZoS should take actions or 80% of the pvp population will be nightblades.

Haha thanks! Nothing like barely sneaking past a group of 40 players ending a siege fight.
I'm running out of sexy saxophone songs to use in my videos. Let me know if any pop to mind!

I love the fact that all these nerfs don't affect my NB build, nobody uses, in the slightest and other changes actually buff itIm almost afraid to use it.
could you share your magplar bud's build? interested to know what he is running while duoing with you.
