Just a heads up: They are releasing an expansion tomorrow. Everyone keeps complaining about the glitch, but right now, they are focused on keeping the game from crashing during implementation as few times as possible. They won't do anything for another week I would guess.
Generally ZOS only make announcements when it's a ban over a large a public exploit.
I've spoken with them in the past about doing running comments on bans for bots etc. but it wasn't something planned.

Hang on - they cant do 2 things at once?
Also, even if they cant do anything now, they could at least acknowledge the issue and put forward a later plan??
The last time there was an exploit like this, they:
1/ instantaneously released a thread with extensive details without naming and shaming of course
2/ the response from Zenny was stunning and breathtaking in its speed and severity (again, why only in this case?????)
3/ outlined exactly how many people got banned
4/ said they will 'be watching over the weekend' - like they were gonna sleep at the office or something (lol)
5/ and made a lot of other promises
When you then notice who was complaining the loudest it seems it was the same old self proclaimed personalities who have YouTube channels, build websites, go to ESO fanboi play events etc who generally feel a sense of entitlement because seemingly they have chosen ESO as a semi-career. (pro-tip, get a life guys)
They then proceeded to cheer-lead Zennies actions like little princesses, seemingly to 'protect their turf' and being 'world first' - yeah right, as if this is the Olympics.
I then commented at the time - will Zenny now consistently provide such a detailed explanation every time for every future exploit? or are you just pandering to a few kids who like to swear on YouTube to appear coolz? - no answer from Zenny as expected.
These guys don't care about the old skins anymore so neither does Zenny.
I'm ranting about this, because I'm not a fan of seemingly arbitrary behaviour and action by Zenny based on catering to the needs, complaints, whining or otherwise of people who are out to make a career of youtube or build videos whilst ignoring the rest of the playerbase, who likely actually pay way more in terms of crowns etc than the you-tubers ever will.
I dont have anything personally against the you-tubers, build websiters etc, and are genuinely very skilled players also, but they are simply embracing the 'teachers pet' and 'mommy's little brat' treatment that Zenny keeps giving them while typically ignoring the rest of the player base.

Skipped the entire post after the initial question. No, they cannot handle a smooth launch, so all resources must be poured into it. If today goes as they want, bans tomorrow. If it goes as they imagine, next week will be the soonest. It takes more than looking at who is beating the trial, it takes more than reading people's reports. They cant just ban people because they may have cheated, and that takes time they don't have right now.

They have been aware of this for weeks though
While I for the most part agree with you, the least they could do is post something like, "Hey were busy with launch but we will be looking in to this soon. Be aware, any and all people using the exploit will receive permanent bans so beware". It just feels like there will be to many players who've cheated in another week to reasonably expect zos to hurt their bottom line banning them all.StackonClown wrote: »Just a heads up: They are releasing an expansion tomorrow. Exactly, banning 34 players isn't that big of a deal, banning hundreds or maybe thousands is something they absolutely don't want to do. Thousands might be an exaggeration but the reports from console players are concerning and the number is growing by the day.

They also said before, see above, "Be warned: we will permanently ban any additional players who use the exploit over the weekend.".
Any here would include a hundred, a thousand or ten thouseand wouldn't it ?

Uh huh, so if you "consider" something unfair or underhanded, you're not really able to define it in hard terms, are you? This makes it subjective. If it's subjective, then why is it cause for bans rather than rollbacks (in the case of loot from things) for example?
