Healing targets behaving oddly.

DanMan3395
I want to report an issue where my single target heals seem to be hitting random target behind me instead of who I am aiming at. Is there a way to deal with this?

Are you sure your non-AOE heals are actually targeted? It seems like all of the non-AOE heals I've seen say "..a nearby injured player..", indicating they will heal someone who is close to you and injured, but you don't actually get to pick who.

I know I have often healed a random passer-by instead of a nearby party member. I certainly would prefer to heal party members over the guy that ran up to steal the chest while I fight what's guarding it...

Indeed, this is what I am experiencing as well. How do I correct it? I cannot seem to use the tab target feature on allies, so the healing is almost random...

    Agreed, healing is a sob.

It's smart heals I believe, much like used in WoW by some classes. It can work really well, if they can be output fast enough - great supplimentary healing. But they need to be able to prioritise party members over anyone else. If they are slower cast heals, then yeah... That's a little annoying.

You don't have a healing target. Heals are not targeted. There is no soft lock for friendly players. The game chooses the most needy in range.

    Needs to prioritize groupmates. Sorry.

Agreed. I have had party members die multiple times cause it heals EVERYONE in the area instead of my group members. Its horrible if I am trying to heal my tank and there are other injured *** around standing in the fire. Then I go oom and my tank dies cause the first 4-5 heals didnt go to him. PLEASE prioritize party members

    Healing shouldn't be like this.

I can sympathize with your frustration. One of my heals targets two allies. I was having difficulty healing my husband yesterday because my heal was targeting two nearby slightly injured NPCs. Meanwhile he was down to about 12% health and my "target two allies" heal wouldn't heal him.

It's infuriating to not be able to specifically target a particular person. Instead I've just been using my ground aimed AOE heal to heal my husband & mash my two-ally heal until it targets him.

We should at least have a heal or two that I can use to specifically target a person.

As a healer myself, I have to agree. I mean, I can sort of see what they were trying to do. Since you can't really use the mouse to target names in your group window, targeting would be f1-f5 spamming (which increases the work your left hand does), but gawd, not being able to target specific heals is a nightmare.

Was healing in a dungeon yesterday and was spamming my smart heal ability... and even though my team mates were injured and clearly closer, my heals kept going to some NPC's in the corner not even in the fight. Ended up wiping in part due to that.

Healing in this game is frustrating enough, (At least when running with pubs, who don't know how to make it easier on you) without dumb "Smart" heals making it even more so.

LOL this is almost a clone of my situation. My wife likes to play healer while I tank and she is getting enraged with the nonsense targeting. I watched her screen while it was happening and I have to believe this is a bug, not a design mechanism. As it is now makes literally no sense, and there is no way professionals designed it this way. I am hoping that reporting it here will get the devs to see it for a fix.
