Not a big deal... This is something that should be looked at as a bonus and not required. like the Boar pet from going to pax or whatever it was...

Problem is, this is a mount, not a pet. And really damn good looking mount which I really really want. Mount > anything in crown store. Senche > any other mount. Black senche with red stuff around it > any other senche. For me anyway, and I still cant get over the fact I didnt get the one apex from current crates after spending over 100 euro on it.

In point of fact...there are few good things in the crown store...and mounts are NOT one of them, additional character slots are useful, even mount upgrades and crafting speedups are useful...cosmetics...not useful at all, and so therefore...even the worthless crown potions are more useful than anything cosmetic. That being said, if you like cosmetics, thats great, but you are only enabling their system by buying their crown crates.

Yeah sadly people are still buying stuff for idiotic prices, can't blame them there $, but yes I agree everything is way out of control now all new content is all through the cash shop now. Hardly anything you can earn in game compared to what's on the cash shop now so why bother even playing it if the game rewards nothing?

Sadly even though I find it unsavory to the majority of ESO players who do NOT use twitch or care to participate in buying their ESO stuff via Twitch (notice Steam doesn't get this nor the Xbox/PS store), it isn't far different from Blizzard and their WoW items obtained from other non-WoW sources.

Im still waiting on a solid sandbox game so I can toss off the manacles of this current MMO business model(s).

Atleast in WoW if you play enough you can buy things on the digital store with no irl $, that includes all expansions coming in any type of blizzard game or any digital games that blizzard will come out with in the future.

Hmm can't see this business venture doing well at all. Likely done because of contracts and such.

Twitch Drops have been around for over a year for other games and folks who use twitch love it, this will be no different.

Well I mean't for the them as a company rather than the fact that its a twitch drop, its more successful in other games because of e-sports and such. There arent nearly as many people watching streams as such in ESO compared to other games. Which is why im doubting how successful it will be because those deals are usually done with the intention of bringing twitch as a partner more revenue.
Ah, e-communities - the "pinnacle" of the internet............yeah, right.

Again ZO$ shows its greed, hope those upcoming MMO's are worth it in the near future to jump ship as this is only get worse. They do not learn from many complaints in the past. Using the same engine as SWTOR was a sign and now they go that same route with small content updates to keep us playing and big cash shop updates to keep us paying.

I must be one of the few, but i love that theyre locked behind an rng wall. I spent $100 on crates during jesters. Didn't get much of anything. Was I shook? Sure. But thats the gamble.

Wanted the moon sugar fit a couple days later so i spent another 25 bucks. Hit the shadow senche on the 2 crates I bought with the left overs. Its possible! Im glad its only a chance. Its purely cosmetic so to use it as an incentive to make money isnt an issue to me. We dont get expansions for free.

They'res also a strong line which MMO's shouldn't cross since if they go to far the MMO does fall apart tbh, its good they make $ but to "content" added that's only in the form of cash shop transactions rather than actual content is bad.

Yup, and it's barely "content". It's cheap reskins of cheap reskins, and they structured a complex system around that reskinned mount and pet to lure people into either spending time on Twitch generating ad revenue, or spending money through Twitch to generate cash revenue.

It's definitely not a charitable gesture, and it's not for the streamers either. The entity that gets the largest portion of this revenue stream is ZOS.

ZOS saw an unexploited revenue source, and they took advantage of it. It's really that simple.

In other words: a cash grab.

      Found the industry apologist.

It's not about the mounts. It's about how ZOS and other companies are continually structuring their distribution of new "content" through increasingly financially predatory means.

Loot boxes, "gumbling", and RNG systems within RNG systems are all meant to give you the illusion that you are participating in a straightforward transaction, while maximizing the profit gains for the developer by encouraging repeat purchases.

What's really happening is you're buying chances at items. Not items themselves. It's like a digital claw machine, but no amount of skill will help you win since it's all just biased algorithms with any number of variables to slant odds in favor of the machine. It's purely random, and made in a way to encourage and entice repeat tries at the machine, even though you may never get that stuffed animal you want, or any stuffed animal at all. It's made to be addictive.

The fact is that you can walk away effectively empty-handed. The consumables are basically participation trophies that let ZOS say you got your moneys worth by pointing to equivalent-value crown items. That is also an illusion - they set the prices on those items arbitrarily and unilaterally. Those items have little to no actual value.

Do you know what other venture deals in this same business model?

      Casinos.

Everyone likes what they like and have different opinions. That you dont care or think is stupid, doesnt mean many other people have different opinion. For you its waste, for me its spending money on game I play for 4 years in all of my free time available. This topic is obviously for those who care about cosmetic stuff in game and like all those pixels on screen. I dont expect anyone to understand what this feels like for someone who likes to have everything complete and is a senche collectionist, but dont tell me its wrong or stupid. For me collecting gold motif books is useless, but some people like to have it, even tho its useless and is just gonna sit in your bank. But I am not gonna tell them its silly or stupid and to ignore it and move on. Some ppl like to collect stamps, other stuff, like other stuff. I wont go tell them to stop caring about something so dumb.
Still cant understand why some people make "apocalypse" out of this?
Do you understand why people go crazy about for example football? I dont. But at least I can imagine its very similar to anyones else passion.

Cool, dont tell other they are not allowed to like it. For u its useless, for us its something really cool to have. I spend probably 20% of the game making my characters look pretty, matching them with pets and mounts. This is not a thing for many people and its a thing for many people as well, otherwise there would be obviously no crown store cosmetics.

Honestly I dont know why people are connecting this with greed. Its not like youre being asked to buy more. Simply that you use a particular venue to make your purchases and through that you have a chance to win these items. From my perspective, this is really not the conversation to be had about this whole situation. The bigger discussion should be whether this will attract players to use Twitch and ESO.

Earlier today I got on Twitch and out of curiousity checked ESO to see how many viewers it had. 660. Compared to Fortnite, League of Legends and CS:GO having 10k-23k viewers in the middle of the day. Obviously those three will have far more viewers as the evening goes on.

The community shouldnt be outraged by "greed" here. But rather debating if locking these things behind RNG will actually drive the community to participate and view ESO on Twitch more. Which I personally dont think it will.

Literally the first mount I'd drop some heavy cash on. Especially since my main is a Khajiit Shadowknight... And you slam it into crates again.

Very very sad... And disappointed :(

Been waiting for it since the datamine...

Not buying crates. I know you love exploiting people with very low real life ego, ZOS, as these people are willing to spend hundreds to compensate ingame.

Crates are one of the most disgusting things against humanity. Because these people don't realise what is happening.

Go ahead and flag my comment too, again, so people can't learn the truth. I'm about to buy all DLCs and cancel my sub forever.

Some of us do have self control and clear consciousness. Most of us gamers, however, don't.

I urge people to think before they attack me after reading this comment. I'm not trying to be a ***. But make people realise what this is.
