Yeah getting annoying, Already dropped about $600 in the last year or so on crown crate, bought both the Morrowind and Summerset Physical Collectors editions, but kind of just over this pay wall of stuff and very few things to actually unlock by playing the game. Haven't played the game for 2 weeks straight now, pretty sure that's the first time in over a year.

Yeah funny thing how they bring out this "Reward" system 2 1/2 years after the crown shop launched, pretty bad

Is there a pay wall to winning the lottery? Obviously you cant win without playing, so is the pay wall the price of one ticket? But I am guessing you arent talking about paying for a chance to win, you want to pay for the certainty of winning. But that is not how a chance system works. You can potentially buy a million crates and not get this mount.

    There is no "pay wall".

Once again, your greed wont stop to surprise me, Zenimax. This is just disgusting. Another of few epic looking senche mounts and we cant even BUY it. I am tired of those, really tired. I would be more than happy to give you 5k crown for that mount, whatever, but locking it AGAIN behind a chance?! I am out of words. I might just as well drop my 6 month subscription, get all the DLC I have with the crowns I have and stop supporting this **** alltogether. No more buying crazy expensive crowns neither subscribing anymore breaking my 4 year sub chain.

Puting the coolest mounts behind stupid RNG chance/buy more crate = more chance, needs to stop.

I personaly never complained about having to buy something. But I am gonna complain as much as I can about not being able to buy something and it being locked behind RNG.

Chance at free things that cost you nothing but loading a stream. Where does the greed fit in here?

Let’s be real, maybe 1 in 1,000,000 people will get that mount from a free crate. The entire purpose of this is to squeeze more money from players in a way that DEMANDS more irl money be sunk into it. You can’t use ESO+ crowns to buy these crates, nor can you use any of the crowns you may have bought on that sale to get these 1 in a million chances at some stupid rare mount.

How do you not see how little they value us as customers?

Let's be real. You don't have to spend a single extra cent for the chance.

I'm not saying that these things shouldn't be available for a straight purchase. The crown crates are terrible and I'd gladly buy a lot of the things in them if I could get them in a straight transaction.

That said, this twitch drop thing isn't going to cost me anything extra and will give me chances at receiving an item for doing something I already do. Sorry it doesn't fit what you want but that's life.

I don't understand the backwards logic. Make people watch others play ESO to get a chance to get a crate which in turn offers a chance to get an item. Wouldn't they want more people to play the game rather than just watch someone play it? You know... rewarding players for playing the game instead of watching someone else?

Hell, even Digital Extremes did this better. At least they gave you a reward every time a streamer unlocked an achievement in-game or you can just buy a tier pack with the items you want through Twitch. The latter being infinitely better because direct purchase.

Luckily, I'm not interested in such mounts at all. But frankly speaking, I'd preffer having them all in store available for crowns. As a collector, I would have buy them one by one till I have all. Just as I do in another MMO.

They can shove the fragmentation. I purchase my stuff via Steam, I am not going to start using Twitch to do it. And what about people who do so directly from ZOS? Seriously.....

When things like this mount high enough, I quit the game, no matter how entertaining I find it. So, keep on stacking it higher.

The whole point of purchasing using Twitch, is getting things that can only be used on Twitch. And there will likely be some profit sharing for the streamer when purchase is made via Twitch store.

Full disclosure, I play the game on Steam now and buy things through Steam specifically for one reason: Valve doesn't charge me sales tax.

Valve only charges digital sales tax in the states that require it. ZOS charges sales tax in every state, and since my state doesn't even require it, ZOS pockets that cash.

I simply don't buy crown crates. Thats really the only thing you can do, vote with your wallet, dont buy crown crates, but only things you can get for a set price. If they want to give me free crown crates, I am not complaining, but I am sure not going to waste money on them. Very occasionally I will buy a cosmetic I like from the crown store, but for the most part I stay out of that particular circus and just enjoy playing the game.

Not going to go back and verify but from my glancing over the News, you get other things in ESO when you use Twitch to purchase, which you do NOT when you use Steam or ZOS. I am not talking about Twitch only exclusive use items. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

If the only benefit is you get items you can only use via Twitch, rock on.

I guess I'm glad that I never picked up the "I have to have everything" attitude/expectation towards games. It must take a lot of enjoyment away from just having fun playing, to be so focused on everything that you don't or can't have.

(And, you know, even when there's something I would really like, but might not be able to get? Ah, that's a bit disappointing, but it's not like it's Game Breaking™ or anything to Rage Against The Corrupt Corporate World about.... it's just a bit disappointing. :| Like the Master Angler fishing boat.... it's be great to put that on my dock at Hunding's. But it's not worth the effort involved in doing the achievement - even if I were willing to step into Cyro - sooooo... I shrug my shoulders and move on. No big deal. )

...it also seems like it helps keep my gaming expenses low. Even if it were just straight purchases and not lootcrates. So that's a plus.

edit: as a separate side note, I still don't understand this whole "watching people play games on Twitch" thing. Let alone eSports, or this whole plague of people expecting to "monetize" (/facepalm) everything they do in their life on Twitch/Youtube/etc. Both sides are so odd - either following streamers, or expecting to make money streaming.

(also kind of funny that gamers expect to do all these things to earn money playing games - sponsorships, advertising, extorting viewers for tips/patreon/etc..... but at the same time, curse the game companies as money grubbing greedy *&^%$ for doing anything beyond selling a game for $60 retail.)

Since a crate can drop just from watching, the only difference between purchasing vs watching is direct financial support.

The crates only have the radiant apex mount and pet,, all the other items are common items.. So it's not like a normal crate.. I feel there is nothing wrong with this crate to give away for watching a stream.. 99.99% of the time it will just give common items.. On the off chance it gives the mount or pet.. I think it will be a nice bonus to that player.. Something unique like the beta monkey pet..

I don't have anywhere close to all the mounts and pets out there, far from it.. So I feel this small chance for a special mount is good for people who actually watched their streams etc...

Not a big deal... This is something that should be looked at as a bonus and not required. like the Boar pet from going to pax or whatever it was...

Problem is, this is a mount, not a pet. And really damn good looking mount which I really really want. Mount > anything in crown store. Senche > any other mount. Black senche with red stuff around it > any other senche. For me anyway, and I still cant get over the fact I didnt get the one apex from current crates after spending over 100 euro on it.

ESO has its flaws, but in my opinion still one of the best MMO’s out there.

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed to see another rng, I do think all cosmetics should be directly purchasable tbh, but at least zos are attempting to get the player base over to twitch.
Have to say I was a bit disappointed with the lack of interesting streams but that’s probably more because of the way pvp is set up in this game. If they actually fixed cyrodiil and it was an entertaining and challenging experience rather than a zergfest, more players would be streaming anyway
