Where did you find your aetherial dust?

Ever since aetherial dust was introduced, I’ve yet to find a single one. I must have picked up 25,000 nodes if not more (I farm every day and grab everything I see) and not once have I found one.

I know it’s rng and I know it’s extremely low drop rate as well, but man it must be a 0.0001 percent chance.

So if you’ve found one, out of curiosity where was it at? Was it ore, wood etc? Have you found more than one? If so how many?

Bal Foyen, Stros M'Kai, Grahtwood. I've found several, but those are the places I remember.

I have only found dust twice, and it was in the same zone both times! In Bleakrock. One was an ore node, the other was a water. This was several months apart, also.

On average one trip around Stros M'Kai yields 60 to 100 dust.
The usual 3 to 7 dust per seam. There are a lot more seams since the last PTS update.
Also find at least 2 Psijic portals with mats as well.

edit -lol just figured out you aren't talking about the new jewelry dust my bad.
Going to have to specify from now on.

2 in water nodes (yes, water)

1 in a nightshade

1 in another flower, do not remember which (and it was the first time I picked something with that new character, first thing he found: a dust!)

1 in rubedite ore

All in different regions, I remember Alik'r, Deshaan and Auridon.

Started playing 1 year and some months ago and I'm not the biggest farmer by any means, just rng.

Hmm. Seems to be somewhat of a pattern, I’ve noticed a lot of people say they got it on bleak rock, stros, bal foyen, kentharis roost. I wonder if it’s purposefully placed in zones that aren’t as populated. Or even coded to pop up in lesser populated zones.

I've found 3 so far. 2 of them were on starter islands and I can't remember where I got the third. It may have been a drop from some event box.

I can tell you that if I'm actually looking for dust for some reason, I just go buy it. It's a rare enough drop that it's essentially unfarmable.

I found one, ore node in Bangkorai. I don't remember if it was a survey node or just on the way to a survey. Starter zones are probably showing up here a lot because people farm nodes in them often due to their density.

I never notice where i get mine only got 3 in my eso life so far

And altho some zones you might think are low pop are known for good farm spots such as - Bal Foyen and Roost, bleak rock
so so there is a cove in Bal foyen that is a great farm place and Roost is great to especially if you just run around the beach parts

2 in Glenumbra, 1 in Deshaan. 1 in Eastmarch and 1 in Rivenspire, Incidently the ones found in Eastmarch and Rivenspire were found within a week of each other in this month of May.

I've gotten 5 aetherial dust since my year or so of playing on xbox one na, never got an imperial motif to drop but I did finally get one via trading a butt load of motifs, made the guy that had it an offer he could never get a better deal for via trades of various motifs.

First one was in Rivenspire alchemy node just outside back gate of Shornhelm like the first week they were live. SEcond one i got was THE SAME NODE!! but over a year later. 3rd came to me as a tip for crafting 2 full set s of training gear.

I have found 8 on PC/NA and 2 on PC/EU. (I sold 1.)

No idea where I got them. They just seem to appear in my inventory.

I do farm mats quite a bit though, but rarely in starter areas.

I found my first one randomly while questing.

The other 2 were found while farming, a full year apart. And I do a lot of farming.

In a chest? Are you sure? I thought only from nodes. Interesting if correct.
