Have been magplar since early 2015. Dabbled in stamplar a few times. It's fun. But feels like a ripoff of everything that magplar was supposed to be, but better at it...thanks zeni. Even still I refuse to leave magplar.

There are so many issues with the spec. But man it's satisfying when you get a whisper from you enemies exclaiming how awesome and WIERD it was to die to a magplar. Also the hatetells when you're able to withstand a group..."garbage heal tank!!!"

Anyway bro good luck, thanks for representing a dying spec. Wish there were more to take up the gauntlet and pain of magplar 1vX. Have fun on the stamina side!

Stamina is way stronger than magicka, I believe, ever was since 1.6 ~

I got a magicka build ready for Summerset, so until then I will leave the struggles away and then come back to rip apart our pvp land.

Honestly, the fact is that as long as Magplar is so good in groups as a wall/support build I just can’t see ZoS giving them significant buffs.

I’m not saying that’s right or ok, but there’s so so many magplars out there that I’m certain when they look at numbers they see a healthy magplar population.

I think this means magplar needs some nerfs in the group utility aspect while some other classes need those aspects buffed. Then at least population numbers on magplar will go down and maybe they will do something.

    Sad tbh.

Btw @Mr_Nobody nice video man, looking forward to some stamplar clips

Definitely. Magplar is a game changer in group. Sadly it is probably the worst class solo.

Worst solo, but it’s the single strongest thing you can add to any other spec for a duo simply because of all the utility and the ability to hide its weaknesses as soon as there’s some additional offensive pressure added.

My wife has been running Duroks+Desert Rose+Zaan and it gets kills solo, but that’s a product of stacking cheese moreso than magplar

Jebus...that sounds cheesy AF. I like getting major defile with dark flare. Plus it's good damage and I believe I read somewhere the defile can't be dodged. Also fun to spam from keep walls....really fun....

Stamplar is better at baddybusting due to having more and easier damage than magplar but it has issues too. It's just too much glass cannon for my taste. It lacks sustain and survivability that magplar and all other stamina class variations have.

Indeed, thats what I am experiencing currently even though Im generally very new to a Stamplar. I will wreck any baddie in seconds while if I get jumped by multiple at least somewhat decent players - I tend to struggle whereas I'd send them back to Rawl'Kha if I was on magicka.

You definitely need impreg. Stamplar can't sustain pirate Skeleton like magplar due to their lack of access to a burst heal and the mending passive. And blood spawn has only 5% armor resist mitigation after being hit so I think it's suboptimal compared to the raw power of pirate Skeleton. (My resists were 20k unproced pirate versus 23k proced bloodspawn which is where I got my dirty numbers from).

I've been having interesting fun using DW/bow/troll king. You probably don't need troll king if you roll two hander/dw, but you need a minimum of 3 heals ticking to make a medium armor stamplar viable. But troll king doesn't really work unless you can reset burst (like nightblade shade/cloak or Sorc streak). Stamplar can't do this, our health shield drains as much mag as purge and purge is too important to drop. BUT I think bone shield has an interesting place instead:
    - helps some ticks of healing to stay. Helps because you'll get the same shield as blazing shield, but let's you keep your mag for purge/armor. So it's "spamable".
    - the melee DMG morph would help but I can't remember how it scales. If it scales off stamina stats, then awesome! But knowing zos it probably only scales with mag stats and then hit by 4 CP mitigation stars lol
    - but it helps lock out x amount of uncrit DMG. Which helps make your impen more effective because the crit resists are not trying to drown in huge incap DMG burst. Just gives you a slight inflated feeling.
    - it helps keep out disease/burning/concussed/poison etc staus effects from enchants. Nothing worse than getting that off balance from concussed while you are trying to out heal burst with your "fart-heals". Shields help lock these out due to how stats effects can't proc on shields.

Here's where I am with stamplar. I need to practice more and change some things too. But I already swapped to dual mace with disease/poison and 1 charged trait, as per Rhage's recommendations for his new baby-stamplars:

    https://youtu.be/Bwsf1v8oaw0

Spoiler alert, I get frustrated in the video and left my mic on lol.

Yeah im running 7 impen. Still its hard sustaining the health if 1v2+ and no los. Im running forward momentum (f these magdks and magnbs)/vigor/TK. What i do when it gets too hot is just pop my pot and run away. I cant simply reset a fight at any given time as i could on magicka but rather can keep up with the pressure and insane damage overall. I love it, but honestly i already miss magicka lol. I cant wait for the patch to hit.

A question though, why do u have expert hunter on top with jabs? Its the same buff isnt it...

Fighters guild passive will give extra DMG which buffs up my vigor and buffs up my jabs.

6 seconds of crit chance is a pain point for me, especially if you have to activate it before you hit your bleeds/potl. One less skill to cast, means one less GCD needed, so I can adjust in combat a little better.

I really wish it gave empower and Stam Regen though, like inner light does for mag builds but with mag recovery.

    Edit:

And with the way jabs fails all the time due to hit box issues, having crit chance in a skill you are trying to use after you already dotted up players seemed weird to me. So having it on my offense bar felt better.

Tbh ive slotted the AS ult now and had alot of success. Got to use it differently than DB. Rather use it after hitting the first series of jabs/slashes. Hits for ok damage and can use it very often without relying on DB. Generally i go with potl-jabs-slashes-ult-javelin-jabs and they are dead. If not - ult is almost up again.

Its my impression or dev ESO HATE magplar? And the strange thing is that they made the Warden completely without any swing ... be it magic or stamina in distress - as they always do - with the Templar.

Unfortunately it seems that ZOS wants to end this class (Templar).

I think devs hate magplars who want to be more than healbots, who don't want to be pigeonholed into a single role, which is essentially all of us. I don't mind healing but I would love to be more competitive as dps in both pvp and pve.

So are you guys running heavy or medium on your stamplar? I had been running heavy with forward momentum but going to try medium so I can use shuffle and roll a little more and get rally to make up for lost healing.

Medium currently for me (22/18k resists). Bow/dual weld, troll king to make up for the missing hot from not having forward momentum. But I use bone surge to keep the hots ticking even for a second; locked out status effects from enchants/crit chance/penetration and 3k stamina isn't as pricey as 4k shuffle which won't actually protect you all the time.

If I could slot blazing shield I would, but 4k mag cost takes away resorces from my purge which is more important. And I give my teammates a 100% shield with major vitality if they use the synergy for when we get focused.
