jumping should cause you to jump. . .

currently jump is only useful for pretending your playing fortnite in pvp (spamming it so you look like some sort of 8 year old pretending to be a bunny)

you don't really jump that high and its not really useful.

I would consider making it so that you cannot attack or use abilities while jumping, but cause a jump to be quite a bit higher and perhaps add in better momentum controls while jumping so that we can actually use it to move around difficult terrain, as well as allow it to be used while sneaking.

right now its so anemic that if a pebble is in your way you have to detour around it, and there are a lot of places (hews bane especially, orsinium as well) that I would love to have a working jump

considering your character cant step over a pebble or twig and instead collides with it, i find jumping to be quite useful.

Aren't you already locked out of casting while in the air? And not to say your perspective is invalid, but I've never had an issue with jump heights. I always found it reasonable that I was kept out of places I shouldn't be, and that certain obstructions were only obstructing as intended.

I gave you an awesome because that was one of the nicest counters I have seen on forums.

The only occasions in PVE I can think of where jumping matters are dungeons where there is a chasm/lava lake in the terrain that you have to get around. Where's the creativity from Zenimax where there's boss mechanics like earthquakes that you would need to time a jump for?

It is really strange.... the way characters jump in video games are completely unrelistic.
You can't actually jump very well at all in real life and no where near that high.

I'm one of the pvp bunnies you talk about. And no, I don't like your idea, and yes you can jump in stealth.

The reason I jump so much when fighting is its a timing mechanism for my weave. Don't ask me out I started idk, but playing ranged magblade jumping is timing. it also helps me se targets behind people or objects when I'm fighting.

The problem with jumps isn't the height, the height is reasonable. The problem is the conservation of momentum, which just isn't there. If I run and then jump, I should be jumping at the speed at which I was running, instead of slowing down to the normal walking speed. This works with mounts, why don't they make it work with normal running?

So very much this. It would be great if the game would allow us to not get stuck on every small bump in the floor though.

What's really annoying is that you can sprint full speed leading into the jump, but as soon as you jump you lose all that momentum.

Are you implying, sir, that khajiit are unable to jump all the way up into trees? Because let this one tell you, he has been in many trees. Khajiit's favorite is in Auridon.

IRL your purpose it usually to clear some obstacle, often one that has far more length than height.

IRL I've never managed to get stopped dead in my tracks by a single blade of grass. If someone steps in front of my car while I'm driving down the road, my vehicle doesn't instantly stop.

IRL momentum is actually a thing. IRL, if I sprint and suddenly come across the slightest incline, I may slow, but I don't have to start again from zero.

IRL I've never tried to clear a mud puddle that was 1 ft long, instead jumped 3.5 feet in the air only to land square in the middle of the very thing I was trying to avoid.

IRL I also don't flail my arms wildly when trying to perfom any of these things.

    Your argument does not apply.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

Adding stamina cost to actions is typically best done when given the ability to increase the power of said actions as well, a la TESIV or TESIII.
Yes,bring back original Morrowind jumping. :o

    wipIR7H.gif

This is why cost of basic actions is typically limited in games like TESV and TESO. As long as we're not doing one without the other it seems a fair idea, if the game can support it.
