[Gear] Stamina NB - New level 160

Hi Everyone.

I'm a new level 160 and I'm a bit confused when I look at all the build out there. All of them start with gear but those don't seem to be reachable anytime soon.
I'm a fairly casual and don't have time to organize myself for trials and my skill level is not on point for farming veterans dungeons.

Here is what I'm looking for and some question:
- Gearing for PvP Solo/Small groups
- What is the difference in loot from normal VS veterans (is that were the gold gear comes from)?

Here is what I have:
- Crafter up to 7 traits (working on 8)

Here is what I was going to do:
- Run random normal dungeons until having a full 160 level gear
- Level up Provisioning and Alchemy from 0
- Run Selene's web for the shoulder/head
- Run Black Heart Heaven for the bone pirates jewely
- Do some PvP to get the Morag Tong set at Burma in Cydoril

I would appreciate any advice.

So i can answer some of what you are asking.

The difference between loot drops on normal and veteran are the quality. Blue drops on normal and purple on veteran. Monster masks in dungeons also only drop on veteran.

If you are farming dungeons and only need body pieces or weapons, farm it on normal because the cost to upgrade those items from blue to purple are minimal and you can get many more farming runs in quickly on normal.

If you need Jewelry from the dungeon, you will have to do it on vet to get purple jewelry. The only way on live to get gold jewelry for a dungeon set is to hope it was in the golden vendor in cyrodiil for one weekend at some point and hope that you find it in the guild trader. However, the difference between gold and purple jewelry is quite minimal while the cost is vastly different.

If you want gold jewelry from a trial set, you will have to complete the trial on veteran for a piece.

Monster masks like selenes also only drop on veteran so you will need to do that on vet for the monster head. The shoulders for those sets drop out of the chests in the undaunted camp. Be warned that the shoulders are pure RNG so you need to use the keys you get from undaunted pledges to open the chests and hope you get what you are looking for.

If you want advice on specific gear for your PvP NB i could offer some of that as well but my PvP characters really dont play the "meta" when it comes to gear. My stamNB is more of a brawler build as opposed to a gank-blade.

Edit: if you are on Xbox NA i could also give you a hand with farming some of the sets for the veteran dungeons if you feel like you need some help with that.

First question between normal/vet is normal drops blue jewellery, which is fine for armour, but that means you're limited to blue jewellery. Vet drops Purple, so you want Vet for jewellery.

Gear all depends on what playstyle you're wanting to play. I'd run get Selene's, Bone pirate jewellery (and 2 body pieces) & craft a set in heavy or medium (Hundings if you're crafting, or Eternal Hunt if you can find a 9 trait crafter), but again gear is personal preference, there's no BiS since everyone plays differently.

Thank you for the quick response.

I was playing around the idea to play Bow/2H and try the sneaky/gank style but in all honesty I have never tried it in ESO.

So if I sumarize:
- Head set in Veteran only
- Shoulder of the same set in the corresponding chest using undaunted keys
- Purple Jewelry on Vet
- Blue armor and weapon in normal is fine

@Apache_Kid, you mentioned that we can upgrade the looted equipment?
Can I do that with my other character (my crafter) or does only the character equipping the item can upgrade it?

@Elween You can upgrade gear on any character, once you upgrade it becomes bound to your account, but you can still transfer it to another character via the in game bank

(Exception is crafted gear, this is only bound when you wear it, so you can upgrade sets you've crafted & sell/give them to other players)

EDIT: Blue armour & weapons are fine as you can upgrade these to purple fairly cheap & gold if you want. Jewellery currently cannot be upgraded, can be with Summerset but it will be pricey.

There are perks under each crafting profession that reduces the number of tempers required to upgrade a peice to a certain color. Whatever character is doing the upgrading MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THOSE PERKS. Transfer the gear to your crafter for a bit if you need to do. Itll save you alot of money rather than upgrading it on a non-crafter.

Just a few things to consider. First, I wouldnt spend any monster keys until next patch. They will drop jewelry in the new traits, which will be useful for crafting research. They are also going to start cycling dungeon boss motifs through the chests, if that interests you. If you dont care about those, then spend away.

I will also give you a few sets to consider, that are easy and cheap to get (not saying they are meta).

Spriggans: This is a dropped set that gives a lot of penetration. Penetration is often over looked, but its often the best way to boost damage. This is good for both PVP and PVE out of the gate. Jewelry can be farmed pretty easily so it's not that expensive. They practically give blue jewerly away, and it will work just fine as a place holder. Pro tip, you can enchant blue jewelry with a gold enchant, to get the full enchant value. Same with gear, its the poor mans way to upgrade. Weapons will be very pricey, so I wouldnt look to those just yet.

Agility: This is only a jewelry/weapon set (3-piece), but that might be just what you need as a place holder. Purple rings and neck will be about 10kish. This is a great stamina jewelry set. Much stronger than any other 3 piece set.

Marksmen: This drops in PVP like candy, so its dirt cheap. Also comes in jewelry. Purple jewelry is very cheap, 3-4k This is a great Regen set. You wouldnt really want to PVE with it, but in PVP, its a very good way to deal with your sustain issues, especially if playing with a bow.

Hundings Rage: Crafted set, which is the go to basic Stam DPS set. Will work great in both PVE and PVP, and you can easily make weapons.

Nightmothers: Another go to crafted set, but it is getting some changes next patch. It doesnt make a bad crafted 2-4 set if looking for some extra crit.

A very classic setup for PVE damage, that would translate well into PVP for a starter set would be as follows.

Hundings rage weapons (DW/Bow is really best for farming PVE stuff), 2 Agility Jewelry, 1 Spriggans jewelry, 4 spriggans armor pieces, and 3 Hundings Armor pieces. This basically gives a 5/5/2 setup (5 hundings, 5 spriggans, 2 agility).

If you already have a monster set, drop the agility jewelry and replace with spriggans jewelry, to keep the 5/5/2. You could also go with a 5/4/3 setup with 5 hundings, 4 nightmothers (i would make weapons NM if going this route) and 3 agility. Its all crafterd except the jewelry, so really easy to get. You could also use spriggans or Marksmen jewelry instead of agility, but it wont be quite as good if just using 3 pieces of it.

@SmellyUnlimited if you spend as many time reading my post as you did writing yours, you'll have understood that this post is not about builds.

I have read/watch countless of them and they all (as I stated on my first post) start by discussing gear that are not reachable for most. I do play roughly 1 hour every other day and farming veterans level content is not really an entertaining option.

Thank you all for the tips/tricks and I will try to craft NightMother and Hunding Rage. Just need to acquire 800 Rubedo Leathers
