The tooltip on various oblivion damage sources goes up when you increase the relevant CC, but the damage does not actually go up. It's not supposed to; the whole point of oblivion damage is that what you see in the tooltip is what you get, no buffs or mitigation applies.

Automaton does increase bleed damage.

If you think about it- a Stamblade has the best of all worlds.

#1. Low cost Ultimate for Major Defile.
#2. You can DW axes on your front bar to apply bleed damage from Twin Slashes. (Bleed x2 from axes and Twin Slashes)
#3. You can 2H a battle axe on your back bar for another bleed from Cleave. (Bleed x2 from heavy weapon and Cleave)

So, if you use Incapacitating Strike from stealth and then apply Twin Slashes and Cleave- you can let the irresistable damage from Sload and unmitigated damage from bleed do all the work for you. Heck- we don't even need to complain about magicka toons getting all that extra spell penetration for their passives! We don't even need physical penetration when we have access to bleeds and oblivion damage. We get 12% extra weapon damage from medium armor and 100% physical penetration! So f-in sweet!

Master's 2H on back bar
Sload for irresistible damage
Blood Drinker for 20% extra bleed damage

Keep stealthing as you opponent bleeds to death. If they heal/purge just pop back up and reapply the bleeds and oblivion damage. Let them run out of resources. Heck, you can spam your execute as they get close to death.

I'm so glad ZOS has given us this balance!

Bleeds and oblivion damage should not exist in the game. To have the ability to completely negate all physical resistances is imbalanced. Unless, of course, magicka players had a magicka-based version that would ignore all spell resistances. It would still be cheese... but at least it would be balanced cheese.

If only we had something called miss chance to force all these unavoidable mechanics to have a counter. I bet that ability would have helped us! They could even give it to Stam builds on dual weld!

I actually would like to see light/medium armor passives that help reduce the damage taken from bleeds, though. Bleeds are meant to be a counter against heavy armor, tanky mother ***. But, unfortunately, they're also strong against the other two armor builds.

...or ZOS could introduce a magicka-based bleed to even the playing field for stam and mag. Either way works for me.
