vet dungeon before morrowind dropped, joined a random dungeon alone too just level my undaunted on one of my characters, I wasn't really trying too out do anyone in DPS i Was just messing about if im honest. Some guy started calling me out over nothing saying im doing no dps and im trash or w/e he then showed me his DPS and continued on for about 5 minutes after some heavily amusing reading I decided to post my DPS.
He had 32k (+4 AoE) , I had 42k (single target). He immediately left weren't even half way through the dungeon (WGT). It was honestly surreal. I really do not understand how people can be that toxic and arrogant then when they get beat at their own game they suddenly tuck tail and run lol.
I must admit though I did enjoy reading his "flaming" of my ability to deal enough damage. Some of it was incoherent rambling. Nearly everything he said had one response from me..... ""

Almost the same happened a few times in CoH II after Mezeluth

I've seen this happen too. Also the silliest thing when this happens
Just had the bizarre experience of running a vet dungeon with a DK tank (wearing a full set of Ebon, I want to emphasize) who merely spammed 2H heavy attacks and occasionally fired off lava whip and hardened armour. No taunting of bosses whatsoever, no crowd control whatsoever. At first I thought, well, maybe the guy doesn't have a sword and shield equipped... but no, I noticed him weapon-swapping exactly once, and he did in fact have a sword and shield equipped! We finished the dungeon with few issues and no deaths, as I'm good at keeping myself alive and we had a great healer in the group, but... still. It's like the guy thought that wearing Ebon would automatically make him a tank. All I could think was that he'd either copied and pasted a build he found online without taking the time to understand it, or it was someone's kid playing on their parent's account. Either way, it was a bit of a head-scratcher.
What has been YOUR strangest dungeon experience?
I've come across some tanks (in PUGs) that didn't know they were supposed to taunt the boss.
Soon after release, first dungeon I ever ran - Banished Cells. This was before scaling and before dungeon finder. Picked up three others that were hanging around the entrance. One was a high level character (don't remember how high - but recall, no scaling, and this is the lowest level dungeon of AD), and she would basically just follow the rest of us around and wait for us to start a fight, and then wham, bam, thank you ma'am! Everything was immediately dead! Each time I was like what the hell just happened? I didn't even know what she did, as I was just getting started in the game on my first character and had experience with very few skills.

You're mean. You took away the one thing that person had going for them in life.

I’ve come across that too, MANY times, but they’re usually not wearing obvious tanking gear.It blew my mind that someone went through the trouble to look up a tank build online, farmed for five pieces of Ebon, had a sword and shield equipped...then neglected to read up on the most important thing: how to tank. He got SUPER defensive when I asked him if he knew what a taunt was, so I imagine he’s had issues in other groups.

One time, I asked the tank if he had a taunt skill on his bar. He said, "Hold on. Let me put one on." I thought he was being sarcastic, but no, he actually took a moment to put a taunt on and started using it

You then are essentially stuck right next to the wall, on the outside of the crypt looking in, and can't really walk but can look in all directions, and rotate the toon.
Thankfully, traveling to a group member usually fixes it, but while outside there's some funky looking scenery to consider. Not to mention the fact that all attacks can still hit you through the wall, and any aggro will carry through it.
@shadowofnarsil @Houshiki if you're lucky, you can actually get feared back out, as well. Most recent experience. vCoH2, the chamber guardian feared a group member into the wall. This isn't really all that rare or uncommon, but this time the boss feared the tank into the wall and then followed him in too. The rest of us still beat the boss, but we had to wait for the tank to die and the boss to come out.
@Enemy-of-Coldharbour That moment where things are going a little too smooth and you quickly check to make sure you're actually set to Vet...Enemy-of-Coldharbour wrote: »Veteran dungeon, HM, no death, speed run with a pug. When it was over, I was like "Wait, what just happened?"

If it was a normal dungeon, maybe he thought he didn't need it tho ? I know when I first asked for advice on a beginner tanking build, the main consensus was that it wasn't required in normal dungeons. [I myself took it because I'm used to tanking in other games being a lot of aggro control, but I can see how someone could think it's not necessary]
Only hilarious if you're a tank or healer and can get another dungeon right away. If you're a DPS and just waited 45 minutes for that, then not funny at all.I once queued into a normal dungeon and when I entered I was surrounded by three Argonians looking exactly identical.
They kept spamming /kowtow until I eventually left the dungeon.
I imagine my replacement got the same treatment.
Trolls wasting peoples time aside - it was actually pretty hilarious.
