We will be performing maintenance for patch 11.3.0 on the PTS on Monday at 8:00AM EST (13:00 UTC).
Maintenance for the week of January 12:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – January 12

So we are ok with the fact that 70% of the pvp population is nightblades?

And yes I have one too, why wouldn't I? They are strong AF.

It really takes something away from pvp though when such a huge portion of the pvp populataion is playing one class.

Edgy and skyrim-y so popular as, good escape, good defense/mitigation, good damage, good mobility, good sustain. Just a very easy class.

The only thing they straight up lack is good healing, but that is made up for by cloak mitigating damage taken wayy too much.

dude the highest class count is sorcs not nightblades. the games statistics said that not long ago.

There are alot of nbs in pvp, didnt used to be. But at some point it got very crowded. I main a nb now, and have been for over 2 years, id really like to see cloak completely loose its invisibility if that would mean there would be less ppl playing a nb.

OPs first post was 70% of the gaming community is nightblades which is false as zos posted their stats either a month or 2 months ago that the highest player count to class ratio is sorcs(go figure). cloak will lose its invisibility at some point so thatll impact the nightblade trend but there will still be nightblade mains.

Was that pvp or the entire game? Pvp has been dominated by stam nbs for awhile but sorcs and nbs have been the most popular for years.

I’m sure if zos said that they meant overall. Either way I’m skeptical about their pvp stats since they said the average pvp player only makes 10k ap a day.

Ah if only. Nightblades make great AP fodder. Unfortunately they're probably around 15% of the population.

You see all NBs because that’s what you wanna see. I see DKs all over, other people think Sorcs are the bane of PvP, there even others who insists BoL spammers are plaguing Cyrodiil.

Highest amount of players reside in pve so it's safe to assume that sorcs number greatly in pve

    This again?

Based on my highly anecdotal evidence of how fast my "Kill Enemy Class" quests fill, nightblades fill fastest, but not so significantly faster than Sorcs, Dragonkights, and Templars that I would say they make up 70% of the population.

But then, I tend to run with an organized raid and thus fight zergs and other PVP guilds, so perhaps my perception is skewed since I see less small group, solo, and gankers.

In other words, statistics with no proof make it hard to take your point seriously. Our individual perceptions very much skew what we see happening in PVP.

they're not really a "very easy class". the easiest classes to play are magicka sorc and stamina warden by a country mile.

NB's where the funnest class to play in large part because of shade and there skills where unique.

Uhhh, No? Coming from someone who mains the class infamous for blocking and applying buffs this is a little silly. Sure that idiotic sniper on the hill who abuses cloak may have it easy but thats just a few styles of play, just like blocking and applying buffs are a few styles of play. Some DKs don't do that much blocking just like some nightblades don't do that much cloaking.

Why should the community care when the devs don't? Nightblades are OP? why not play one then? I don't believe they will receive any nerfs in the next 6 months, so go figure.

Don’t like it? Slot sloads set.

You’ll start seeing a LOT fewer nightblades. FAST.

(The DOT is oblivion damage. You can’t cloak, dodge, or mitigate it, and it breaks cloak every second.)

So everyone and their mums should equip a broken proc set because zenny can not figure how to nerf nightblades.

lol. You're saying it like I should pity nightblades or something.

Total sorc population means nothing really for PvP.

I'd say therefore definitely more NBs in BGs than any other class. Not by a massive margin, but definitely noticeable

70%. Prove it. Factually prove it.

Having a NB as Op states means nothing and clearly the paper thin statement Of the OP is merely an opinion bases in fantasy.

the reason NB performs so well is because they'r toolkit just makes them far superior for most jobs, ganking? heres the ability to hit very hard and fast, major defile, stun, cheap costs and to finish it off, an invisibility spammable, a speed buff, evasion to help you escape and a giant *** to go with it all.

support role? fear from a range or close up (the most reliable CC ingame cause of how broken it is) speed buffing paths, a semi cheap ult that reduces damage taken in a big circle, ranged slows that if i recall cannot be dodged+the above escape power.

    the list goes on.

most other classes have a more narrow tool set being focused into specific setups where as NB toolset is flexible as hell and fits most if not all setups.

And that's a pts-problem or can you just take it to the pvp-section where I wouldn't find it? If they again screw pve-gameplay due to pvp-qq-ing (loss of cc, damage, individuality among the classes - makes pve boring af), at least I want to blame ZOS for it.

Well, still I can. Would be about time to separate pve and pvp. Shouldn't be a problem at all to change the way some abilities work for pvp without touching them in pve. As it is, I'm pretty much done with the fighting system.

Stealth is broken in TESO compared to pretty much every other mmo I've ever played from DAOC onwards. Being able to cloak at will and reset a fight almost whenever you want is stupid. There should be a long cool down on a vanish type skill that you can only use in combat relatively infrequently. In DAOC it was 5 minutes (I think) while 2 minutes in WOW so there had to be some strategy on its use. That and a heal debuff on a basically spammable ulti with massive damage makes this class easy mode. Mind you every class has its moment in the sun before ZOS nerfs it into the ground - we can but hope they don't wait until every non ball group player is playing one before tweaking it gently back down to earth - preferably without breaking off its wings (a la MDK)...

Ok since this gets brought up every time - made up stats - lets look at pvp killcounter stats:

I can provide killcounter stats for PC-EU daggerfall covenant vivec roughly 40% soloing 30% zergsurfing 30% grpplay up to 6 peole since morrowind release:

    31mio AP made
    55000 kills

    by classes killed:

    19% templar
    25% sorc
    34% nightblade
    16% dragonknight
    6% warden

For PC-EU ebonheart pact roughly 50% solo 30% zergsurfing 20% grpplay up to 6 people since homestead:

    43mio AP made
    77000 kills

    by classes killed:

    22% templar
    27% sorc
    33% nightblade
    16% dragonknight
    2% warden

I´d argue based on these personal stats that nbs being overrepresented in pvp is not only a perception problem but also pvp relality (and sorcs to a lesser extend).
Also based on people i play with/talk to having similar stats (if they track them).
Whether that means if they´re OP or not i won´t comment on.
