Reduce s/b and dw upgrade costs

Currently upgrading one handed weapons and shields costs the same amount of materials as upgrading two handed weapons. This eventually results in twice the amount of money spent to use golded out weapons.

In the past, this was justified because one handed weapons and shields counted as separate weapons slots. With Summerset however, two handed weapons will also count as two weapon slots, which takes away the unique extra slot that s/b and dw provided. While I think this is an amazing change, it takes away the unique benefit of s/b and Dw, and on top of that leaves them twice as expensive as its peers.

It would be a great benefit to reduce the amount of required upgrade material down from 8 per piece to 4. One could also argue to reduce the required amount of raw materials down from 150 to 75, but this is less problematic since these materials are very cheap anyways.

2H weapons counting as 2 set pieces took 4 years, expect to see reduced cost enhancing for single handed weapons in 3 years minimum.

no. tempers especially gold ones are pretty hard to come by at times and in order for them to keep that value 8 for gold tempers is perfectly fine per pieace of armor and weapon. you dont need it reduced you just need to farm more

Careful what you ask for. From a balance standpoint, 2h should be doubled in cost, so it costs the same as 2 other armor/weapon pieces

Waiting for ZOS to notice this thread then simply double the upgrade cost of bows/staves/2 handers instead of reducing the upgrade cost on 1 handers.

Making 2 handed weapons requiring 12-14 materials would sound fair i guess.

As people have said, this should happen by making 2h weapons more expensive since they are 2 slots.

I agree with this thread; give 2h two enchants, split traits, increase light and heavy attack damage, and have a crit based weapon.

This. It costs more to upgrade DW and S&B because you are getting more out of two pieces vs 1. DW gives you two enchantment procs for the same damage as the single enchant on 2 handed. If we're going to make upgrading DW cheaper then enchantments should deal more damage on 2 handed weapons.

would also be nice if they reduced transmutation stone costs on changing DW/S+B traits

hmm maybe I should rephrase this thread to "balance one handed and two handed weapons" xD

Anyways, I don't think two traits come as an advantage, enchantments however sort of do. I however think that the second weapon enchantment of DW and the second armor enchantment of a shield come as a unique passive benefit of the weaponline and aren't subject to be "brought in line" with two handed weapons.

Why stop here, double the cost and have two traits on it so you still have to farm and transmute as much as dw. Btw I am serious if one stick has a two set bonus then it need to be two set peices all the way through. >:)
