I don't know either, but my brain reads it like "I could care less if I tried, but it would actually take some effort."

Heck no! Its not that I have anything against those that don’t sub. But if zos gives something equally to subs to compensate making unlimited craft bag free to all I’m cool with that. But crafting bag is a big perk

Ima eso plus subscriber and have been for years. But i come to realize this is the only reason why i still have a craft bag... only thing you get from eso + that I care bout is dlc and craft bag.

But this craft bag is such a need in this game that just imagining not having one would make me not want to play this game.

Some players have 14/14 characters with full bank space and full storage chest inventory.

Why? Because they have to sit on so many reagents and random armor styles etc.

I think to make craft bag only available to subscribers for this long is a mistake. I guarantee this decision has pushed thousands if not millions away from the game. And you cant blame them craft bag is a need in this game. But its blocked by a monthly sub...

I feel like zos is worried if they give it out free there will be outrage by the subscribers. But in reality who cares worst comes to worst you lose subscribers but you hold on to the players that are debating whether or not the craft bag is a deal breaker to them.

    #CraftBagEquality

You're only thinking about yourself and not the company. The company needs us subscribers to keep the game going. If subscribers quit because the subscriber perks are for freebies then very few will subscribe. The company won't make money and the crown store will have to fill with P2W items to make any money. Quality of the game will go down drastically.

If the craft bag had been free last year, I would have spent maybe $80 us. I actually spent over $300. So far this year I would have spent $40 for the chapter which I still have to wait a month to play.

When I subbed back at console launch, I had access to all content. With the current model for additional content, I am getting maybe $20 per year worth of content for my $180 sub.

I cannot think of anything that would keep me subscribing without the craft bag. The crowns are a wash as I usually spend them on the story DLC anyway.

Unlimited crystals? Nah, I haven't really needed to transmute for quite some time. Since they nerfed the drop rate from PVP, I transmute a few items a month after my end of campaign rewards.

Unlimited decorating slots? My current primary residence is an empty snugpod.

Unlimited bank? That might do it but would actually be a PITA. Finding something by looking through my 480 slots is a chore already.

Free assistants? I already own the banker and am not even really thinking about the merchant. Now if they were all full service assistants, another maybe but $50 is a lot cheaper than $180.

Access to the best weapons and armor? Now that would be pay to win.

Just keep it as a perk for subs and I will stay a sub.

Chances are you wouldn't even be getting those things if not for the money they get from selling ESO Subscriptions, Crown Crates, and DLC. Without a little greed theres no incentive for devs to continue to put out new content and features because the money from just selling the base game of a 4 year old title doesn't cut it. You can buy the base game now for <$10.

The argument for the crafting bag being ESO+ only is as follows.

Why do you need those crafting mats? To craft. There's no pressing need for the crafted gear in this game, and even if there is, it's all buy-able. You can just grind gold or sell other rare items to buy it.

In terms of upgrading gear that is dropped, that's only like what, maybe 20 items total? You don't need a crafting bag for that.

In other words, you're paying for the ability to be a crafter. You really don't need to be a crafter to succeed at this game, it's just a fun and convenient thing to have at your disposal. And you pay more for that convenience. A lot of things in life are like that.

Honestly now that they've got a proper wardrobe system, the appeal of crafting is just that much less. I'm sure plenty of players just sell all the mats they get and focus on grinding dungeons and raids for all the drops they need, and use any excess gold to buy temper materials.

The day craft bag is given for free, is most certainly the day i stop subbing, ive chucked enough at this game already, feel slightly aggrieved that morrowind is now available for free if you pruchase summerset (even though we were told it would never be), so a free craft bag will be the straw that breaks the camels back, for me.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

Honestly if they did that I would probably stop subscribing too. I am well aware of and pleased with what else my sub gets me, like not having to buy DLC, but what if I did? It would be a one-time cost and then anything else I bought would just be cosmetics. Sooo...yeah, probably smarter on their part if they keep it the way it is.

I would be content with a smaller bag that held 200 of each crafting material offered for crowns. Maybe with upgrade levels for example different price offerings for 500, 1000 material capacities. The unlimited bag could stay with the subscription. The craft bag is the only thing I want right now from the subscription package. I don’t like package deals if they are going offer features I like them in separate offerings for direct purchase.

Giving away the crafting bag for free is one of the WORST ideas I've ever heard... If someone is a big enough hoarder to have 14/14 characters with full bank space and full storage chest inventory and not see the benefits of subscribing, I think they have bigger problems than inventory management....

Would love for them to make it free for everybody since it's the primary reason I sub anyway and I wouldn't nearly as often.

That reason right there though is why they won't make it free to all.

They should make it free to keep after you have subbed for so long though, that would be fair I think.

No. But it's time to move Elder Scrolls Online to a free to play model where the base game is free and u just buy the DLC, Crown Store items, etc. The base game sells for less than $10 now so their not making their profits from that and this would generate a new additional stream of players each month. The free to play model is the future, just look at the success of Fortnite.

OK.... This is an even worse idea... Most likely proposed by one of those disappointed players who predicted it would go free to play within the first year of release... (I enjoy reading erroneous claims like those from 2014... go back and look at old YouTubes... it's hilarious... Kinda like people sayin' "President Hillary..." in 2016)

A half measure might be to make materials not count against character inventory, but they still must be transferred manually and still occupy bank space. Craft bags would retain their time-saving convenience, while allowing non-subbers to quest for longer periods or craft on a single character.

I subbed before they added craft bags, because it was a better value than buying things separately, and a company that keeps me interested for months on end deserves something in return. So while it's my favorite part of plus it's not a deal-breaker for me. I'd be happy if they could give everyone craft bags, but understand the need to make money.

    It’s simple bait and switch.

Sale: Here’s a great elder scrolls game with crafting, looting and no subscription.

Switch: Ha ha! We worked hard to make the game suck and you now have a part time data entry job called storage mule.

New sale: The game can be freaking awesome for just $15 a month and we’ll take care of 90% of that data entry job. You’ll also have way more gold and housing is a fun, playable part of the game if you’re into it.

So now you pick. Stay or leave, but they didn’t break any laws and it’s not changing.

The only thing I would like to see would be to see motifs be put into a tab like a currency instead of taking up space. Nothing like having a stack and a half of copper but not have the barbaric designed learned, etc. I'd support something like that to be free to everyone. There's so many designs and more keep coming that it'd be nice to not go welp get rid of this Argentum cause never getting the primal learned only to have it show up in some loot a few days later but you don't have the motif material because you were making space in your storage.
As for the actual storing of crafting material like the wood, metal, etc? No. That should be an eso+ only thing. So in short:

    Motif storage tab, yes please.
Actual craft bag, no, that stays special.

Also I know that yes the crafting bag stores that stuff but we are talking about what would be made free to all players. So not asking for the whole bag just a minimal part of it.

Here is how it should work without a sub. Being 100% business focused

*Crafting bag slots should come with purchased DLC/Chapters
    1 DLC = 10 slots
    2 DLC - 20 slots

    1 chapter = 20 slots
    2 Chapters = 40 slots

    2 DLC + 2 Chapters = 100 slots

I don't think any longer the crafting bag should be sold separately, it should always be tied to accessing DLC which means
    1. ESO Plus (unlimited slots)
    2. Purchasing DLC and chapters (limited slots)

There has to be a focus on buying DLC and chapters and right now...I'm not sure that's the case. The focus is on buying crowns and while that works for some customers, there are a ton who will not buy ESO Plus or crowns but who would purchase DLC. The DLC part of the marketing for benefits is missing......pre order bonuses aren't viable long term.

ESO Plus benefits can still exist but there needs to be a push on cosmetic access for buying DLC and chapters not just a subscription only option.

Didn't read any of the posts since there have been similar threads in the Crown Store subforum on this topic.

Basically, if you want the bag, then sub. Fork over the cash like everyone else. If the bag were removed, they'd have to come up with something BIG/AWESOME to replace it. Let's face it - it's the main reason most sub.

Also, if they were to offer it to all players, then it'd better be a CS account upgrade with a significant cost - not 2,000 as I've seen proposed, but at LEAST as expensive as the assistants, and even then, that's too cheap. AND, it should be a free upgrade to sub members who've been active for say 6 months.

However, I'm not averse to a sub-par alternate in the CS for those who have chosen not to sub for whatever reason. I've proposed this several times before - first was back when I had unsubbed due to the issues with ESO+ on XB. Why not have a limited version available - like break it into bags for each of the crafts and one to hold the generic stuff - trait stones, bait, etc. These would hold a limited number of the appropriate craft's mats and would take up a bank slot and items wouldn't automatically go to the craft bag. Maybe even have items available at the crafting station but not for turning in writs.

On a side note, from posts I've read in the past, many non-subs assume that subs don't actually buy additional crowns or buy lots of stuff in the CS. I can't speak for every sub, but I've bought multiple crown packs on sale and several, at least, at full price - in ADDITION to my sub. I do believe that not subbing but supporting the game by purchasing crown packs and buying DLC outright is an important revenue stream for ZOS. But, don't delude yourself into thinking that subs only pay $15/mo. and that's all. Some, do, sure, because they have to budget for it and don't have extra cash lying around.

TL:DR - The craft bag is a big deal, obviously, since these kinds of threads pop up all the time. Why, because all players want it BECAUSE IT'S THAT GOOD OF A PERK. Thus, it's an extremely important part of ESO+. Remove it, and something HUGE/AWESOME must take its place. If ZOS were to offer it to everyone, then IT MUST BE A CS ACCOUNT UPGRADE at significant cost, but free to ESO+ members who've subbed for a certain length of time.

    EDITED for grammar.

As much as I want (and need) the crafting bag, I don't think it should be free. ZOS needs some form of income to keep the servers running, and because the crafting bag is a desired thing, people will become, or stay, ESO+ for it.
