Is it time to give all players the craft bag without subcription?

I have subscribed since release day on the PC. I was thinking about dropping the sub around the time the Craft Bag was announced. The Crafting Bag is the main, really only, reason I sub. All the other ESO Plus Benefits I can live without at this point. I don't decorate houses extensively so I don't need the sub for that. I keep my bank at less than 240 slots most of the time, so I don't need the sub for that. I am at CP1113, so don't need the Exp Boosts. I am fully leveled in Crafting on all my alts, so don't need the Inspiration Boost. I also own all the DLCs so don't even need the sub for that.

What I do need is the crafting bag and I will sub as long as that is a subscription perk.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes, the crafting bag is "pay to win". It gives me such insane stat increases that I can 1 hit any boss mob or player........ Right.

Like others have already stated, the crafting bag is the only real incentive for anyone to have ESO+ (myself included).

And because of this, I don't crafting bags being added to all players any time soon - unless they add some new perk to the subscription.

I too would most likely cancel my subscription if the crafting bag was no longer an issue, and tbh I think ESO would do just fine without subscription. But we would probably have to be prepared for a possible pay2win-Crown Store situation - which you can see in most other B2P and F2P MMOs, since there needs to be another incentive for people to want to spend more money. I'd love to act naive and say "All things free for everyone!", but in the end ESO is just like any other product/business, with people behind it that want their sweet moolah

    You made me laugh.

    Enjoy your awesome.

Thank goodness you have the craft bag, because you're probably going to get quite a few more.

There will never be such time.
The only reason to suscribe is crafting bag. Without it nobody will suscribe and ZOS will close this game.

OK, so you want the Crafting Bag to be available without a Subscription. What do you propose to replace it with that gives me the same value for my sub?

People asking for this do not realize it will be the death of the game if this was to happen, simply because so many would unsub, the financial model of ZOS would probably not survive unless some things you don't want to happen became part of the Crown Store. The day this was announced would be the day I would ditch my sub.

So, really, pay your sub if you want the crafting bag.

Did you subscribe before there was a craft bag (when there were even fewer incentives to do so than now)?

At one point everyone who wanted to play had to sub. Then One Tamriel changed that. I can't recall if they added the craft bag instantly, or shortly after when they realized there wasn't much reason for people to keep subbing.....

I'm with Nestor; take the bag out of the equation and I'll drop the sub I've had since early access. Which is more beneficial to ZOS? Steady income from subbers, or sporadic buying of shinys from whales? If you pick the sporadic buying, look for a lot of new shinys showing up in the crown store and rng crates to keep the money moving in.

Before the craft bag and optional subs, anyone who wanted to play the game had to sub. Mandatory subs were required. You didn't sub, you didn't play. "Incentives" didn't enter into it, and there wasn't anything else to buy, it was all part of the sub.

Yes, but there was a period between the game being sub-only and the arrival of the craft bag where ESO+ only gave you access to the DLCs and the XP/gold/research time buffs.

Edited to add: Tamriel Unlimited came out in March 2015 and the Craft Bag was introduced in May 2016 (coincidentally, that's when Vet Ranks were removed.

Its a good deal to subscribe with the craft bag. I can live without it.
The strong factor people subscribe is the craft bag, bank space and dlc.

Yep; edited my post. Knew it happened around that time, but what with my terminal packratitis that was acquired playing the single player ES games, exactly when we got the endless bag of holding is blurry.... Took less than two days to fill the extra bank space.....

LOL! I edited my post too, since I went and looked up the dates. We had about 14 months of ESO+ with no Craft bag.

And I hear you about filling up inventory. Same thing happened when they doubled bank space for ESO+ It was great for a few days, then I got all those sets that I can possibly, maybe, use one day on one of my alts. >_<

Ima eso plus subscriber and have been for years. But i come to realize this is the only reason why i still have a craft bag... only thing you get from eso + that I care bout is dlc and craft bag.

But this craft bag is such a need in this game that just imagining not having one would make me not want to play this game.

Some players have 14/14 characters with full bank space and full storage chest inventory.

Why? Because they have to sit on so many reagents and random armor styles etc.

I think to make craft bag only available to subscribers for this long is a mistake. I guarantee this decision has pushed thousands if not millions away from the game. And you cant blame them craft bag is a need in this game. But its blocked by a monthly sub...

I feel like zos is worried if they give it out free there will be outrage by the subscribers. But in reality who cares worst comes to worst you lose subscribers but you hold on to the players that are debating whether or not the craft bag is a deal breaker to them.

    #CraftBagEquality

they do that there will be enough threads thatll eventually force them to change it back. me personally i would riot over it because i have paid for it for this long no it shouldnt be free.

Considering they're taking the opposite approach of adding more inventory clutter while grindwalling inventory space additions, I don't think this will happen.

I toolk a few months off, so I canceled my subscription.

When I came back to play, I had no intention of subscribing. Well I lasted about 30 minutes before I pulled out my credit card.

Buy an alt account, make 8 characters, buy them 4 inventory upgrades each and you have 800 slots. That's the pre craft bag way and I'm sure it's still a good solution.

Emotional words...but when you actually pay for something, I don't see how that's "greed". Seems to me the greed comes in when folks want something that others pay for, without paying for it.

I wouldn't be angry if they gave it to everyone, but I'd likely go back to subbing intermittently when I want to do something that requires one of the other benefits of subbing. Really to make it available to everyone they'd have to come up with an equally compelling benefit of subbing--and then the argument would be that it's really unfair that the new benefit is subbers only. I agree that the game isn't really playable without the bag, but so long as subbing is optional I don't really see a viable alternative for ZOS. Of course we did get the storage chests this year--and I think that allowing folks to buy more bankslots if they purchase next year's chapter, would help folks cope and drive sales. Win win!
