If you want a halfway decent idea about the mentality of some player who do this....recently there was a player greatly complaining about how the extended anniversary event was going to really screw up his sales in a few months as the market would be flooded, then he mentioned how he has literally over a quarter of a billion gold between all his toons.....
That much gold and he was furious about the event going an extra week. LOL Greed, baby. Pure and simple.

Besides, what i can't understand - new items appearing - if you cant get them withint 10 minutes they are gone and re-appear at 3x the price....
Happend for example yesterday - item was gone 16 minutes after it appeared on the GS when i tried to buy it and appeared an hour later at 3times the price....
How are these people even so fast that they can constantly be everywhere and buy every item within minutes?? Is that their whole game, buying and selling? For what if you dont use the money to actually play the game?
Just making money for money sake is completly pointless.
And this is why we 100% don't want a global auction house...

Lol. You could say the same thing about reality no? And yet we do it.

I beg to differ, and you give the answer yourself in your statement already. It's about playing a game and playing games is never pointless, although the "value" of playing a game may not lie inside the game itself. It's about relaxing and having fun, which is an important aspect of life. So yes, mastering content of a game does have a kind of real life accomplishment. People are satisfied with their efforts and maybe with the social interaction that was necessary to achieve a goal. And these things last, even after switching off your braindrainer.
Some may call it bragging rights, others call it self-fulfillment. The personal value remains the same and it's never pointless.

They use a script that scans the TTC website for specific things at specific prices. If you can code, something like this is very easy to make. If you have some spare cash, I'm sure you could also hire someone to make a script like this for you for a small fee.
An addon can't do this because an addon can't scan more than one guild store at a time.
That said, they do still have to travel to the guild merchant and buy the item themselves. This part can't be automated. And this is why we 100% don't want a global auction house...
Yep, this. While what I described above is possible, it does take a good amount of effort outside of the game, along with coding knowledge or real money to pay someone to write the script for you. Things would be much, much worse for the average player if we had a global auction house.
