I closed app and logged in everyday during this event. I am a ESO plus subscriber and to my understanding that subscribers would get 1 free crown crate per day per login. So question is when do i get these crates and howndo one obtain them. I was told through the mail but have not received anything.

which makes no sense since every other time it was immediately after the event ended, so why the 2 week delay now?

do they need time to lower the drop rate even more so as to make sure no one gets anything of worth with the FREE crates

Really? That seems like a longer wait than usual. Usually it has been the Wednesday or so following the end the of the event and I was looking forward to getting them tomorrow. Oh well, I guess not.
PC-NA since 2015. Tired and unimpressed.

Not sure when the new crown crate season starts, maybe it aligns better?

The crates have never been given immediately after the event ends, there's always been a delay while Zeni does a last QA (insert eyeroll) on the distribution algorithms against the login records. This is a longer delay than typical, but it's never happened right away.

The free crates won't come in the mail, they will simply show up in the crate UI.

There have been 2-5 days from end...I never recall this long of delay.

The post specifically says "by May 16th." This means you could get yours today or tomorrow. Or on the 16th. Or any day in between.

Maybe its a testament to how many ESO Plus customers they actually have?

No they just wanted to give people something to complain about. I mean you are getting something FREE and you still complain.

This is why 99% of gamers never step foot in forums.

Great conspiracy attempt; however the last free crates had people getting the radiant apex reward mounts, so....no. Rng is rng, and the rng gremlins bless whoever they wish.

It was never right after the event. It was always at least a week of wait. Be patient. Its because they want it to be closer to the next DLC crown crate season.
Magicka sorcerer from start until the end. Always. Through the good times and the bad, even now when its probably saddest PvE dps it has ever been.
Even as an owner of one radiant apex mounts I am against radiant apex mounts and anything thats not obtainable by direct purchase.

It was also mentioned in the announcements on the login screen. Yes, that's a wall of text and easily overlooked, but it was there.

So you can properly prepare yourself to be disappointed by the crates.

This is what's wrong with the world.

People get something for free, then complain about how that free stuff wasn't good or didn't have something they wanted.

While I find this thread irritating, I want to give the OP the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps they want to buy some crates, but want to see if they get what they want in the free crates before buying additional crates. In the end though, the date they gave is the date they gave. Asking "Why" is a waste of time. You will get your free stuff when you get it. Save you anxiety for when other people receive their crates and you don't.

I have no idea how they do the crown crate distribution. There are so many possible reasons for the delay that it is silly to make it an issue. For example, it is possible that it runs on top of some periodic process. It is possible that they their operations teams is just really busy this month. It is possible that one platform just can't get the update sooner and they are setting expectations based on that platform. It is possible they had issues making their schedule in the past and want to give themselves more flexibility to handle business as usual.

What is so surprising with this?- To get a gift which is not worth it, is just like an insult.

I confess I paid no attention to the 'Free ESO+ event' since I'm already a long term subscriber. It was only when a friend mentioned the free crates that I looked into it. Kudos to ZOS for the loyalty rewarding of free crates to existing subscribers! I also noted that the delivery of the free crates would be 'by 16 May'. Yes, a bit longer than normal but, hey, they are free stuff and I trust ZOS has their reasons. Perhaps they had a bit of trouble calculating everything they needed within their previous constraint of just a few days. No complaints here but will take the lesson on board to look more carefully at event details in the future. :)

Seriously? lol I guess I was always taught that its the thought that matters. Who's the one considering the worth? The receiver or the giver?

I'd hate to be your friend... I pity those who don't give something up to your standards/expectations... hahaha
