You know how trainers work in the other games, right? You pay someone gold, and you gain a level in the skill they're teaching you. I believe a feature like this should be available in ESO and that Players should be able to provide this service to those who are less experienced.
Obviously the "pay someone gold and get an instant level" is way too easy for use in an MMO, but I think it might work if we made a few tweaks to it:
- Players can only train other players in a skill if they are over 5 levels higher in that skill than the trainee.
- It will work similar to researching traits, in that you activate it and a timer begins to tick down. The level will be granted upon completion of the timer.
- The time it takes for the trainee to gain a level is based on how high their current level is in that skill (i.e. those low in that skill will level faster, those higher in the skill will take longer to train).
- Trainers can train up to 3 characters at a time.
- Trainees may only receive training from 1 mentor at a time, and only for 1 skill at a time (i.e. If being taught Two Handed, must wait for training to finish before learning Dual Wielding).
- Timer will tick down faster if either of them has an XP buff, depending on how big the buff is, and will tick down even faster if both of them have a buff.
So, do you think a feature like this has a place in ESO? If not, what would you change about it?
