I missed a day of the event

I just know I'm going to miss that guar in the first month of Summerset because my job will insure that I miss logging in at least one day.

Same here, and not just the first month. It's very rare that I'm able to log in every day for a month, even if it's literally just a matter of logging in to a character and not needing time for anything else. I'm just assuming I will never get any of the 'top tier' login rewards, same as everything that's exclusive to crown crates.

I think I missed a day or maybe even two logging into the EU server. But my consolation is that...well, there isn't really any consolation, I've been concerned about this "event" from the beginning. Because I am a regular subscriber already and I log in almost every day anyway, this worked out to something like a loyalty reward for me personally, BUT...didn't they give crates to people who were logging in during the free sub trial, in past events? Without them having to purchase a sub? It worries me that they did it differently this time, like they are having to tighten their belts because they aren't making mad sales on Summerset already or something. So I guess my consolation is at least I'm subbed and got crates at all. Feels a little hollow because I expect there to be a lot of people who missed the fine print and will be angry when they don't get crates. :(

I think that was a different type of event. If I remember correctly it was when they were doing one of the free trial weekends and to encourage existing players to be online at the time they were giving away free crates. That was open to everyone (subscribers and non-subscribers) but you had to log in and kill an enemy, not just log in.

They've also previously done events like this where non-subscribers get to try out the sub benefits and subscribers get crates.

Basically if they're giving one group of people something free they try to give everyone else something as well to balance it out, and that thing is usually crown crates because why pass up a marketing opportunity?

Glass half full or glass half empty. I tend to go with the "half full" and am happy to get something for doing what I would be doing anyway.

Then I admire your mindset. I can never help but feel somewhat disappointed when I get Crown Potions/Poisons/Soul Gems, etc., instead of something that I'd like - whether a flaw in my character or me over-hyping my expectations, I usually roll with the, "Half-Empty", when it comes to Crown Crates.

[EDIT]: Also, being pessimistic about it helps to prevent me from buying additional ones, if I'm not content with what I get and decide to have a stab at getting something rarer.

Thanks. :) Comes from deciding half way through life that it was too much of a downer to see it any other way.

I love getting supplies. Not as much as I used to since I've gotten my crafters to total maturity but I can either use 'em or gem them. It'd be nice if they were a bit more generous for the "gem-ing" process though. Still, better than "here you go, stuff you can't use or already have. Too bad, so sad."

Gosh, I need to start thinking like that about more things... :p

I agree wholeheartedly about the Gem conversion - if the rates were a tad more generous, at least one would be able to put what they get, (whether disappointing or not), towards getting something better. I don't know, I think that I just get frustrated at the uselessness of most of the rewards, and how they equate to between 1-4 Gems on average; they're barely even useful for going for a better find.

Crown Mimic Stones are always nice, though, and Riding Lessons/XP Scrolls are also always appreciated. ^^

Was walking around today and realised that real life was so busy yesterday I forgot to login. so now I'm beating myself up about missing a crate. Anyone got any remedies to ease my own personal flagellation or further punishments whatever you deem appropriate.

Somebody get this guy some medical help. _ .

I missed a day too.... then I realized if the crate was that important I would just buy it. What are we really missing out on? Another momento that we will never use? A stupid looking hat that makes your character look bald? The time we got was worth more in my opinion.

by getting all the free crates up to now, I was JUST able to get the leopard senche which I missed, because it came out a couple months before I started playing. But I would never buy the leopard (or anything) through crown crates, so the free crate gems were my only option XD

Why would you beat yourself up over junk in a crate. Do you really think that ONE crate has an apex mount?!!

On the first givaway, dwemmer, I got an apex in my final crate, so yeah, might matter.

    Mostly just trash though.

Apparently you won't need to log in absolutely every day, there is some cushion. So you likely can get the guar as long as you log in for however many days of the month are needed.

How much cushion? I have no idea. And it will reset at month's end so unlike GW2 you will lose out on the reward cycle if you skip a lot of time. Thus I anticipate it feeling like unwelcome pressure, but I'm not sure it will -- if, say, you only need a total of 10 days logged in during a 31 day month, that's doable for most anyone that has time to invest in an MMO in the first place. If you need 28 days so your "cushion" is all of 3 skippable days, that might as well be a daily requirement that many will resent.

I missed last free crates event at all, no big deal, upcoming daily rewards will compensate a lot and if they are like on PTS, trust me, you'll get more than one crate in a week.
