Those who know me are aware, I have built an altar in memory of 1.6 :D It was really the most fun patch pvp wise. Short time to kill, punishment for mistakes, but also strong defense. PvP got worse and worse after that.

Honestly, really, the game is much better off now than it ever has been.

We can gripe about small things here and there but...Big picture, it's come a long way.

There were aspects of the game that I liked better at launch, there were additions to the game that I got more excited over than Morrowind, but I like the current state of the game with all the new content and features.

It was best when there was no dumbed down crap...when Dosha was actually tough to defeat etc.

It was was the best of times; it was the worst of times... The "Renaissance" of ESO came with the Justice System... I think trials came around then, too...

Game was must enjoyable for me when there was Soft and hard caps on Stats....
I actualy could Build whatever my fantasy wanted and it was usefull... there was like 10x the options of how to play a character then now...

since they removed the caps and made Stacking one stat the most optimal do it or go home way ALL the classes feel Trash for me....

    Completely agree.

at launch pvp felt good. the flow felt good. all though resource farming was lame. i just hate how pvp is pvdoor now.

i really loved imperial city when it released. was an amazing time to pvp.

i loved the game before weapon based ultimates and all the crazy procs.

Yep - the poll needs an Other option.

I main a mDK so my answer is pretty much any time before the Morrowind patch. The sustain nerf might have been needed for other classes (maybe) but it hit mDKs hard as we didn't really have much in the way of sustain to begin with.

I'm not whining as I am still doing vTrials, vMA and PVP as before so I have learnt to adapt - but I just don't find the game as fun as it used to be.

I guess it was before the One Tamriel Chamge, where I could level up a new kind of level beyond the level 50 Cap. But this Champion System is good as well.

And I feel like the community wasn't as terrible back then, there were still vestiges of hope around, which made me feel like the game isn't so bad. Now post-Morrowind, I feel like it is poison-city up in this grill.

Iiked it most right before morrowind before they killed sustain for PvE players to fix PvP.

Now the game is at its second best state though with the addition of transmutation and outfit system and jewlery crafting in summerset

Every patch they add mostly better features making the game better

Though I enjoyed the opening day, it was for different reasons than this poll infers.

It was difficult in some regards but what I really enjoyed about it was the following.

    1. There wasn't a ton of additional information that one was forced by the community to go out and research.
    2. The community was as a whole more helpful in-game and closer together.
    3. Everyone was starting fresh out the gate so the gap between those, who can and those who can't, didn't exist to the degree it does now.
    4. Instadeath mechanics did not exist to the degree they do now.
    5. The world was open and full of possibilities, now it is closed and full of nerfs.
    6. There were specific roles for each class to play and specific sub roles that were needed to complete content, now those roles have been removed/negated, and classes are losing their identities.
    7. While not all sub specs were balanced they were alot more balanced than they are now.

^ that is why I prefered opening day.

Although most of my hype was definitely around launch (and the beta era), I truly enjoyed One Tamriel - simply because of the social aspects in the game.

I had made a lot of friends in different guilds and around the game world, and even through random groupings through the dungeon finder. BUT quite a few of us couldn't play together with our mains, since we were all spread over the different factions. It was especially annoying regarding RP - people had to make clones of their characters in all the alliances to be able to take part in certain cross faction RP events (which wasted precious character slots - before more could be bought).

Also, from the very beginning (beta and launch) my hubby and I had misunderstood the vital part about the factions being separated (we thought we would be able to play together at some point, even if we were in different factions - he was DC I was AD - noobs I know). As soon as we found out of course we made new characters to play together, but it was quite a bummer after having spent our initial launch hype on characters that we (at the time) couldn't play together.
