New morph tier!

I was thinking it would be really cool to do another tier of morphs. Yes, there would be some balancing issues just like anything else but I’m sure there would also be more room for customization and creativity as far as builds.

    No, it doesn't.

Since stamina builds are -supposed- to rely more on warrior-ish weapon skills then flashy class "magic" stuff...

Personally, I would much rather have more skills to morph then more morphs on the skills we have... But that ought to come at no surprise considering the stuff I tend to post:

I could see them adding a weapon or two. Or another generic skill line for people. But I really don’t see them spending the time to add a whole new tier of morphs. Depending on how you look at it, that could be 4 new morphs for ever useable skill already in the game. That is a lot of work.

I would really expect spellcrafting before I would expect that. And I think spellcrafting is a pipe dream.

    Thats Stupid....

then whats the POINT of classes ?
ONLY Mag builds DESERVE to play a CLASS ? While stamina Builds never can be a CLASS ?? BS !!!

Stamina Only deserves to use Weapon Skill lines for attacks ? While Mag builds Can use Weapon skill PLUS entire CLASS Skill trees for it ? BS !!!
Try to tank with a DK without sloting ANY class skills.... good luck lol...

i could write an essay here btw why what you said is just a big load of LOL but i wont waste my time with that....

GAME NEEDS MORE STAMINA CLASS SKILLS ! Thats a Fact !

Could also just be one more morph option per skill, so instead of just 2 morphs you have 3 per skill. Still a lot of work but significantly less.

    No its true.

I mean, the point I am trying to make there is, who is supposed to use the "flashy magic skills" - mages (aka magica builds) or warriors (aka stamina builds)? And who is supposed to swing a sharp-edged piece of metal really, really hard, mages or warriors?

These "stamina characters", they are the warriors, assassins, knights, archers, etc. of the world.
Stamina build means their power comes from their -muscles- and physical abilities, and not from their mind and mystical abilities like magica builds. Thus... they truly -are- supposed to rely more on weapon skills (and supplementary stamina skills like the fighters guild skills, or some from the assault skill line...)

I mean, if you disagree about the "way warriors are supposed to fight" thing I mentioned, come on, show us precedents of all the times when "stamina-build = pure warriors" use their muscles to make flashy magic attacks in fantasy stories.
    Go on.
How many mystic fireballs have Conan or Hercules thrown through their strength of arm in all the stories and movies? How many bolts of lightning have Aragorn or Kull tossed around thropugh sheer physical prowess? How many orbs of holy light have Hawk and Fisher conjured by hitting harder? How many illusions have Thorin or Wulfgar called up through excessive muscle-flexing? How many healing spells have we seen Red Sonja or Xena cast with their dextrous martial arts? How many ice walls have Fafhrd or Gimli punched into existence? :p;)

I doubt you will find much in that regard in fantasy settings unless you start looking at hybrid characters like Thraxas or the Grey Mouser... ;)

    Making characters different.
That doesn't change when warrior types (aka stamina builds) are supposed to use more weapon skills and not flashy magic-ish class skills - they still have enough skills that are -useful- for stamina builds, and they have all those passives you conveniently overlook to make their class different...
    Zordrage wrote: »

Also, note that I said "rely -more- on warrior-ish weapon skills", not "rely -entirely- on..." My tanky DK alt does use two and ultimate from the class skills, but the rest are usually from S&B... (stab, slash, rush) and does well enough (not that I play him a lot, since I prefer other playstyles)

But they -still- are not supposed to use a firework of magic skills. After all, that's the while friggin point in the difference between mages and warriors!

And by the way, stating faulty thoughts in bold all the way doesn't make them more true either.

    Nope.
    That's not a fact, that's an opinion.
    Your opinion.
    Mine is somewhat different...

I mean, I -do- agree that the game could use more stamina skills. More skills in general, really, to make things more interesting for us playing it, give us more choices, make characters more diverse, give us more skills and combinations to try out and experience...

I just don't think that giving all the flashy magic class skills stamina morphs is the right way... but if you started arguing instead that warriors could use more weapon skills lines, or even more skills for the existing lines to make them more interesting... or some "martial arts" guilds that teach warrior-ish stamina skills of various sorts... I would be agreeing with that as well.

I would rather preffer other then just adding new ones making currently dissatisfying morphs more viable. What's the point of adding new morphs to some abilities if one of their current morphs is barely used by anyone ?
