Should we be able to "hide guild tabard" with our outfits?

i dont understand this thread as you can just take the guild tabard off instead of having it on.

But then your guild won't show up under your nameplate.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding this.. but can’t you just take off the tabard?

If you take off the tabard, your guild name won't appear under your name plate.

99% of the time I wear costumes, so the appearance of a tabard doesn't really affect me. But that being said, I would prefer it if there was a UI option to set which guild name you want to flaunt in your nameplate, rather than having to carry around potentially several tabards.

Example: When you are in PvE you can flaunt the name of your preferred PvE or roleplaying guild, and then when you jump into Cyrodiil you can change it to proudly show the name of your PvP guild.

Also, let's be honest, there are some hideous tabards out there

Just don't wear it. Seems a lot simpler.

But i want to rep my guild on my nameplate without looking like an idiot

Well, I would suggest not picking a guild with an idiotic looking tabard, at that point!

Don't they all look like crap?

When I PvP in a group and the leader says to focus on person X, I guess he just memorized what all player characters look like in Cyrodiil?
