Some options, albeit they all suck:
    1. Democractially and legally get a new government in your country
    2. Leave you country and live in a more free country

You mean the country that just got rid of net neutrality? *** like this can just as easily happen in the US. This is why we need a free and open internet.

You sound like a snowflake and very dramatic too. It won't. I live in the greatest country in the world :)

While I am glad that you are happy about the country you live in, you should tone down the ethnocentrism.

There are other countries in the world that do better than the US within specific areas - general income level and living standards and the access to free education and healthcare being some of the most important points where US is behind most countries in EU and certain other parts of the world.

I don't know what your judgement criteria is for being the greatest country in the world, but try to be a bit more varied and enlightened when throwing around conclusions like that - it is simply demeaning towards others and come off as arrogant and self-centered.

Lots and lots of trash in this thread.

A guy has connectivity issues. Everywhere in the world you'd just tell him to restart his router or check his connection.

But no, the dude has (possibly legitimate) political issues and that HAS to be the technical cause!

It's almost irrelevant how through the whole event and then the last days up to including yesterday evening I have played with Russian players just fine.

But no, it's certainly a USA vs U.R.S.S. issue! Forget cold war and U.R.S.S. don't exist any more.

Seen from a neutral nation, both sides sound pathetically enslaved by their leaders propaganda.

I've been experiencing problems with access to NA server last Saturday. I got many 200 and 108 errors but everithing just settled after some time. You could try privateinternetaccess VPN. Works fine for me. Pings are fine too. For NA server lol.

As an Austrian I can honestly say with a smile, that my country is better than any other country in the world.
Centralized healthcare, no Poverty, Freedom of Speach, cheap cost of living, no neighboring threats (other than the global ones), no overly strong Religions (which are responsible for the degradation of a country like 90% of the time), no major pollution, surrounded by mountains and forests (the state I live in is even called "the green heart of Europe").

Thats not bragging, thats a simple fact. I wished all humans could live in a country like that.

I sympathize with our Russian friends.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a German video gamer 20 years ago.

We were playing an online FPS game and came across each other on the same server. People started asking each other where we were all located. He was in Germany and I in the U.S.

He said something that I found to be very prophetic about how the world has changed.

He commented that it was amazing that our grandfathers shot and killed each other in wars just a few decades before, and now we, their grandchildren played video games together.

Despite our differences in nationality, we are not that different.

This one just hopes for better days ahead for all of us.

Days perhaps when all of our leaders care a little less about themselves and a little more about all of us.

All the power each of us has an individuals is to be that sort of leader ourselves in all that we do and to be sure we expect the same of others.

We cannot slay dragons alone but little by little we may poke their feet until they take notice yes.

This one hopes you find, or are granted, some sort of resolution to this issue soon.

The bolded part is definitely the words of a layman and an inaccurate conclusion.

All other points is true for almost every other EU country as well - maybe with the exception of the polution.

Every country has poverty in one form or another though, whether they want to acknowledge it or not.
Politicians will try to spin this by either determining that those who are poor chose to be so by their own accord or they will put some arbitrary border of income which you need to go below in order for you to be defined as poor - and then when it turns out too many families are below this border they will just lower it some more with an even more arbitrary reasoning and voila; now they aren't poor anymore.

You should work on that. Maybe find something more substantial to be proud of.

Although, yes, some nations tend to enjoy more freedom than others, I'll be proud again when someone not so presidential isn't in office anymore. Ha ha. Sad, though, when government infringes on the people's quality of life as limiting or blocking certain things as internet access and whatnots. I can see for work-wise, but, not for something as a video game entertainment in your own home. Hope things improve in Russia with this net issue.
