DK Healer Viability?

Since release I've always loved the aesthetics of the DK class. I also always main healers. So naturally, with the release of the patchnotes and changes to key dk skills in regards to healing (obsidian shield, obsidian shard, ash cloud, cauterize ect) I'd like to hear peoples thoughts from the pts or general theory crafters, on whether DK healers are now a serious viable option.

DK healers are already a serious viable option. They just get even better with Summerset.

I hope i meet one someday, just curious. But i did enough dlc dungeons with a sorc healer and it worked, so hy not

Well I am usually healing on DK and it's working very good. Haven't done trials yet cause it's a fairly new character but Vet Dungeons are no problem.

It's not the DK healers aren't viable, it's that it's a bad match up with DK tanks. Obsidian Shield doesn't stack and the Healer's weaker shield will override the Tank's, negatively impacting group survivability in general. Even the recent changes don't fix that as even if people get 2 different morphs, the shield still override each other.

Once this gets fixed in 2020, then they'll finally be acceptable healer, you know, after they nerf BoL down to 5% healing on a 2nd target.

I've been using a DK healer for ages. It's viable and I don't even use the shield. I've done the craglorn trials with it. Btw I don't think the changes in Summerset will benefit DK healers too much - talking about the class changes here.

The changes are really good for DK healers, I main currently on the main server, and it's mostly about stacking heal over time effects, which gets even easier to do with the changes to ash cloud, plus cauterize is a viable burst heal option with it's increased range.

I've healed on my Mag DK in Vet AA, Vet HRC, Vet Asylum, Some parts of Vet Maw (joined in and healed first/2nd boss but group disbanded at 3rd), vDSA, and all vet dungeons except for the newest ones.
