I was unaware that Comcast actually caps your internet use if you use too much, but after getting a notice from comcast I had to look into my monthly use. ESO alone was responsible for 390 GB this month. Is there a way to turn off auto-updates from ESO? I do not have the bandwidth this month to allow for any further updates.

Would this include not opening the launcher for the regular game, or just switching to the PTS tab?

Turn off PTS. If you arent up to date for either live or pts you won't be able to play. So if you don't plan on doing any updates I would also not open your launcher.

The launcher does have a setting for auto updates. You can turn it off to download at a better time. I just use it because I have slow internet, but it could be used to download at a McDonalds or somewhere else with free wifi to get the updates, which are necessary before you can play the game, if you have a laptop do download the files onto.

I also have unlimited data and the option for unlimited hotspot on my phone with Tmobile. It may not be fast but it works if need be. It's actually excellent to game on just not updates.
