Go post your reasons for wanting to get better

I decided to shake some rust off by just jumping right into a random vet dungeon. Got a DLC in-progress on the last boss. I was practicing as a DPS thought I've spend most of my time as a healer. At least one in the group had been in the dungeon a long while. I remembered the mechanics, botched some block cancels, and made at least one "d'oh" error but I don't think I was awful. But after I was there for about five tries it was called. And maybe if I had been more "pro" than "am" at damage dealing we might have made it, maybe not, but regardless it was fun.

And it made me want to get better to be able to help out more in those situations.

In 2014 and 2015 I did that a fair bit with people sending me tells on my healer to help with a final boss. Yeah sometimes I just wanted to quest or fish in peace but it was nice to help out.

This isn't a brag about being kind or nice. I can be rude or just plain "too busy" to help. But being social and good enough in a game to help people can be really fun sometimes. Especially when someone learns how to do something or gets a first clear.

I tend to think if wanting to get better so I can graduate to harder content, and those are still the main reasons I would give for efforts to improve gear and get practice, but running things for fun and to share the experience with newer/returning/improving players has its own rewards.

I dont need to be more better im allready damn good in mmos in general and in almost any game....
I just need better gear that i almost allways never archieve because im not a fan of socialising....

I am actually getting better at enjoying this game - I did not really before due to a couple of issues, which bothered me greatly. Now I'm taking it more relaxed and acknowledge to myself, that I am not responsible for the actions of other people and they have to deal with stuff they are doing wrong on their very own; it is none of my problems. This more relaxed view lets me enjoy the game more and that is basically the progress I made with/in ESO.

I want to be good enough to be able to do any part of the game and not be nervous about it. I'm working on a few things right now and when I'm settled in those areas I'll keep adding more to my plate until I've done all the things.

I'm always looking for ways to improve my characters just as a personal challenge, so I strive to make them as good as I can.
Plus, good, maxed-out characters means I can get monster helms in vet dungeons without embarassing myself. LOL.

So dungeon run are even easier and in pvp so I can spend less time running back to the fights

There is so many ways to make a rotation and build that uses no heavies though... poor excuse.

i like this question. it made me chase down whole chains of questions... "well, why do i want that monster set?"

i would love to be more valuable to people in PvP. i know Cyrodiil has a reputation of being filled with jerks, but when i join a group i'm there to enjoy the comraderie. we're supporting each other, sometimes with tactics, sometimes morally, sometimes it's communicated and sometimes unspoken. we formulate plans, face challenges, and share victories and defeats. when i know for a fact that my heals, or my plan, or anything else about my presence is making the game more fun for the people who ride with me, that just feels awesome. there's a little bit of it that's selfish and about me feeling appreciated, but i think for me a much bigger part would be relief and the confidence boost the squad would get. i want to do my part in sharing victories.

so i have to get cool enough to get that damn Earthgore Helmet.

Same. I'll never be that person who cares enough about stats to switch my build around 3 times a week. That is just nonsense to me.
