Attempt to log onto PTS and end up on NA server. Why?

I've tried twice now to log on and both times I've ended up on the NA server.
This after having the 4.0.1 patch install. Anybody else have this?
(Please! No, it's not just me!)

Well, the PTS is set for NA server right now...

That being said, I just accidently logged onto the PTS while trying to get to NA because I didn't pay attention to which one I was set to, so I've sort of got the opposite problem

There was a fresh copy of PC NA done today to replace the old ones that were there already. The next copy over will be for EU players.

There is only one PTS, not separate NA and EU PTS servers like there are with live. You simply log into PTS. Sometimes it has NA characters on it, sometimes it has EU characters on it. Right now, it has NA characters. In a week or two, it will have EU characters on it.

You can't have both NA and EU characters on same server at same time because you would end up with all kinds of database-level conflicts. NA characters with the same name as EU characters being most obvious, but it goes deeper than that. Your quests completed, your inventory, your bank, your riding skill, your motif knowledge, your achievements, etc., etc., are all tied together. So ZOS cannot just put, for example, "NA_ or "EU_" in front of all the character names to make them unique. There are probably hundreds of database tables that are all linked together by names and unique keys. They would have to modify millions of fields in the database to make sure everyone's copied character, from both NA and EU, is complete and correct.

A simple copy of database can be done quickly. But wholesale modification of the underlying data is time-consuming. So we only get one megaserver's set of characters at a time and they flip about halfway through the PTS testing cycle.

You can have fun too, y'know! Just create a new character to try out the tutorial, or create a template character (and then spend gobs of time setting it up with skills/gear, all freely provided, before you actually go play). There's a lot of freedom in knowing nothing is permanent and all the goodies are available to frolic around with.

It may not help you figure out how to tweak your main, but it will still help with the beta testing.

Since the maintenance why can't I login anymore to Summerset, it always logs me into Vardenfell, I had just spent ages setting my character up and now gone!!!! what is going on, have been playing on pts in Summerset for a while now, anyone else having this problem?

It's possible that because there was a fresh copy of the PC NA server applies to the PTS that the progress was lost and you'll have to make another template. If you were using your own characters then try accepting the Summerset invitation quest again and make your way there.

Then again I could be wrong since I'm personally avoiding the Summerset zone.
