So, did you enjoy the anniversary event? Tired, for sure, right? xD

I did! Completed all motifs, earned hundreds of Ks (gold) selling repeated stuff, leveled up some alts and increased my account CPs.

It was tiring using 10 toons (although that was on me, I was not forced to), but yes, I definitely enjoyed it. :)

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

I thought yesterday was the last day for it and today I logged in this morning and did crafting writs for my main and was like, yay anniversary boxes, ugh I have to get on alts and grind more boxes to try to get more motifes.

But overall I loved it. Just this last day was too much. And so much lag with elebenty people all trying to get their crafting writ anniversary boxes before the end.

I got burned out, yet acquired just about everything I was missing. Feeling the pressure of the time-limited WC pages was caused me to feel the burn out.

In conclusion, I didn't mind it so much. I would rather have it, than not have it.

I told myself I could stop doing the dailies once I learned Worm Cult on my main crafter.

    Did I stop?

Didn't complete any motifs, didn't sell anything, and leveled my new Warden to 50.

Did get a lot of motifs on my two crafting characters, got a bunch of gold just from all the dailies, and got lots of crafting mats. ;)

    And yeah. Glad it's over.

I'm a bit ashamed of myself to admit I feel a little unappreciative of the anniversary event, but the weekend just really let me down to the point I asked myself, "Was it all truly worth it?"

Of course, I absolutely do not expect to unlock a motif with every chest, but at the same time, nor did I enjoy opening chests in which a 15 minute jaunt would have earned me farming nodes.

What really triggered me was finally getting tanin, but I only received one (1, uno, single) Dreugh Wax. This upset me more than it should, because I expected at least 5 or 10 (the base counts for most items). Instead, I got one.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with the game giving up its Dreugh Wax, but it's atrocious to earn in the game. Breaking down 1000+ Ancient Silk and Rubedo netted me a whopping 2 Dreugh Wax.

    2. Out of 1000.

By the time Sunday rolled around, I started to get that feeling again: the feeling of being punished for playing the game as it was designed.

I know "grind" is part of many games, but this game makes it feel worse than any grinds I've done in the past.

Why is it when I kill an Alit, I can never get a leather by product? Every other node in this game gives me what I need, but not leather: red meat or mudcrab chitlin.

I didn't use the anniversary event to gain motifs (though I did get many). I was hoping for the legendary mats I will need once I level up my research.

    This was not to be.

Well, if it weren't for the fact that I just renewed my ESO+, I'd take time off until Summerset.

But it was sure a profitable event for me. Crafting writ profits alone were enough to max my bank space out and to buy 10 extra slots for every character (10)... and still I ended up with more money than I had before the event. No wonder this game needs so many gold sinks.
And I haven't even started selling those 150+ duplicates yet. ;)

I opened about 250 boxes and got some stuff, which I like - a lot of the chapters I cannot use yet though, I would have preferred to get stuff, which I can actually use and not just fill my bank storage with them for later use. But then again, people would complain if they cannot sell these chapters, which they do not intend to use or cannot use yet. So I guess, it's ok.

Otherwise, I did not more than I normally do - so this event gave me something "for free" which did not cost me more afford, so I am thankful for that. I did not use the cake, because I see no point in faster progression playing without add-ons. Fast progression would just make me weaker, because I do not have the time to look for enough skyshards to compensate for the loss in stats with any level up. Faster XP gain is not enjoyable playing without any add-ons - I have to actually find those shards, not just run from marker to marker to get them.

I liked it although the reward boxes totally changed my priorities which eventually burnt me out. I think it was a case of FOMO (fear of missing out). I would've like to have level some new toons with the cake xp but I didn't at all. It'd be nice if we could get a xp event divorced from the reward boxes.

I deliberately didn't hammer it, as I didn't want that burnt out feeling. Did my dailies on my crafter and on an alt who's craft skills are fairly high from deconstructing stuff, then went and just played the game and snaffled a load of champion points thanks to the xp boost.

There's a bunch of motiff's sat in the bank and they'll stay there till I decide what to do with them :)

I only did crafting writs on all characters for most days. That got me 66 boxes a day, in about 1 hour. So no, I didn't burn out. But I did finish all motifs, bought the pages that weren't dropping for me after the first week. Started the event with less than 500k, I have over 2 million now, and I spent another million on all those pages. And I've got some pages left to sell.

Bit tedious but good even overall.

Last night at 11pm the amount of people (myself included) doing writs at the same time was cool to see. it was like the last hurrah before the servers went down for maintenance.

Also felt good to know this was the last time I'd be doing writs on 15 characters every day...at least until next year.

Burned trough one million gold yesterday, earned two during event and probably have motifs for close to another one.
First I do today is to collect all the surveys, has 70 or something.
That is after I collect all items from the alts who was dropped at crating station this morning :)

I am glad it's over, but I am very very glad that it happened and I thoroughly enjoyed all the rewards (and the cake). I wouldn't have dreamed of becoming a motif collector before the event, but now I have so many that it gives me something new to work towards and complete. It's a nice feeling.

Cheers again to ZOS for giving us that extension for all the troubles EU went through, too.

I now also have all 8 characters at max level, (levelled the last 3 up from Lv30 during the event) I got a lot of materials too. One of the best events for me in terms of progress/resources!
