Idea for a Warden Stun

Since they are taking away our only class stun (a part from a ultimate) let's wonder how we could actually get one on another skill

I would say thi:

Gripping Shards (impaling shards morph)
Cost: High
Does: A little bit of dmg for tanks, but for every other warden this morph is useless

WHAT if, we give this morph and the unmorphed skill a stun

let say

Gripping shard: Skewer enemies with icy shards, dealing Frost Damage in the area every second over 12 seconds and reducing Movement Speed by 28% for 3 seconds.
On cast, enemies in the area also become immobilized for 3 seconds.
Damage done is based on your Max Health.
Stuns up to 3 enemies. instead of immobilizing them

It's can be an idea, but it's mean removing a useful tool from tankden's movepool.

In the arctic blast topic, someone pointed that the arctic blast morph, which is nearly useless, can be a single target delayed stun. It can be changed as a enemy-casted skill who do frost damage for three second then freeze (stun) the target ; it would keep the delayed stun idea than shalk has while giving warden a ranged stun.
Or the skill may be a dps skill with an instant damage and a 10 second dot, and his secondary effect would be to freeze the target if he's affected by chilled (which is crazy fast with a single direct hit from a warden, and nearly guaranteed with a charged staff) ; it would be an interesting skill for magden in pve also, but magdens would struggles against nord and especially damage shield.

Making arctic blast single target would harm the tank toolkit just as much as messing with gripping shards. Tank wardens use arctic blast (over polar wind) for the extra chance to apply aoe chilled to enemies. Making it single target screws that up.

There's already a stun element with permafrost (the ultimate - stuns enemies that stay in it for 3 seconds).

If you ask me, they need to get rid of nature's embrace as a wonky ally-pull-heal-whatever and make it something like WoW's entangling roots; lock down an enemy with vines around their feet. They can make one morph of that stun the target IMO. As a heal and utility skill it's crap atm, especially with the poor targeting.

I'm not spending 3.8k magicka (heavy breton) for a stun. it's just not gonna happen.

Well, you have a point. Making the damage aoe but the stun only targeted would still not be enough in this case, since the heal (even as low as now) would disappears.

If the skill change as much, the cost have to be looked at, of course.

This would still leave Magdens without a good stun because we wouldn’t want to remorph that skill every time we go from pvp to pve and it can’t be used at range so it synergizes poorly with screaming cliff racer’s damage increase and any sort of caster playstyle.

This, as it’s a melee aoe stun, seems like more of a pvp stamden buff than a magden one and stamden really doesn’t need the help. I think reworking arctic blast into a single target ranged ice dot with a stun after 3s would be better as a buff to Magden and Bowden while leaving melee Stamden relatively in check.

But if we as a class are allowed 2 stuns, heaven forbid, I think your suggestion would be more than fine, if it stunned after 2 or 3s following the payoff for patience theme of warden. It should be delayed thinking of the class hate that a destro ball zerg spamming shards with an undelayed stuns would cause
