Low spawn rate on Jewelry Pewter seams

Look, I realize crafting is a grind, but as a veteran player who has maxed all of their current professions, I find the jewelry seams to have ridiculously low spawn rates. In trying to level jewelry crafting, I have to start at the beginning by finding pewter seams. Trouble is, all I seem to find are platinum seams, which can only be used at max level. Today is an perfect example of what i mean by low spawn rate. I went to three different zones, and only found one pewter seam! I think the most I have found, farming multiple zones, is three! Personally, I, nor would I think others at max level, cannot waste time farming this much to level a profession. Am I the only one who is seeing this issue?

I think the idea is for the high-level players to skip leveling the profession in a tradition "create 1000 iron daggers" kind of way, and instead get by just deconstructing all the jewelry they normally come across. My current plan is to level Fighter's Guild on a lot of my alts by farming dolemns in Alik'ir once the patch goes live. Those guarantee jewelry so I can bang out multiple things at once and also deconstruct the high-tier materials straight out of them.

Now, there's still lots of other issues with Jewelrycrafting leveling and usage, but I think when it comes to leveling the skill itself as a max level character there shouldn't be too-too much to worry about.

I agree with the above poster. I'll be leveling the skill line by deconstructing jewelry. That doesn't mean the low spawn rate of nodes isn't an issue. It looks to be a potential bottleneck for refining purposes, leading to a lower yield on mats usually found by refining. This combined with a lack of hirelings as well as the 10x requirement for upgrade materials will definitely slow crafting and writ production down, but the process of simply leveling from 1 - 50 in the profession looks to be best done with decon.

I think this shines a light on a topic that probably needs discussing.

The nodes that you find are based on character level and crafting skill level. So when leveling a new craft, it should be 50/50 chance of getting a low level mat, vs a Max level mat on a cp 160+ character. However, what is usually seen is you find much more high level than you do low level. It's already rare and ZoS has made it even harder to level a new craft because of this. Your best bet to finding only pewter is to go on a lowbie and farm so you have a 100% chance of pewter as you farm. It's stupid.
