Crown Crate Bug - rewarding character creation body markings

Yeah so, I open a crate on the PTS, get this weird blocky box labeled Subtle Puma, one of the default body marks for Khajiit. Can we get some clarification if this is going to be fixed

yes, it did let me apply it, and it was the standard default body mark
no, it didn't let me reduce it for gems even though i already bought the body marking pack from the store
no, I dont know why it looks like the world's worst attempt at photoshop, thats why i think its a bug

Not a bug they just haven't finished the artwork for the card.

The art may not be finished as mentioned above, but being rewarded something you already own is a concern.

As mentioned before: This isn't a body marking that belongs in the crown store in the first place, as it's free from the very start via character creation. Would a base game body marking be put in a crown crate?

They're putting individual body markings from that mega pack into crown crates now? Wow, what the heck. The only way that would be ok is if it replaced those pointless poisons and potions. Not cool, ZOS.

I got that one as well and submitted it as bug. It's something that's available from the start of the game and alternatively from the mega packs, which shouldn't leave the crown store, since they are basic things. This marking (and everything else from those base packs) shouldn't be in a crown crate.

Thank you for adding your experience as well. I really hope this is just some bug with one of the crown items since you got the same marking, but I’ve learned to expect the worst from ZO$ and their Whale Crates

Still waiting for someone at ZOS to at least tell us if this is going to be the next “feature” for crates

I expect this is not a bug and is done so you can change your marking anytime. And I find it to be a *** move.

I had something similar drop for my Nord. It was from a crate rewarded for levelling during the Anniversary event. I didn't bother to check if it was a base item or not... perhaps I should.

You can do that already with the Crown Store bundle, that has every single pattern that you can switch out on a whim.

The issue is this is a basic Character Creation body marking, as well as one that's part of a mega bundle in the crown store. There is absolutely no reason that this should populate the Superior Rewards roll, unless this is just a common item that got re-rolled into a "common-superior" in addition to the standard superior item. (What were the other items from the crate?)

I'd imagine it's just a place holder because the assets aren't available.

Or it could be an indication of where ZoS get their inspiration.

That’s what i’m hoping.

@Avran_Sylt the rest of the items were all filler consumables. The body mark was the only notable thing, though I use that term loosely.
