Unknown Error, wont sign in

Every time that I go to sign in and play, it takes a long time before anything happens. When something does happen it says "Error: An unknown error has occurred". I'm at college now, the game was working fine when I was at home.

I get the same thing. Both my roommates are also able to play so I know it isn't the ISP. Sometimes if I repair the game a few times it will then finally work a few times, but after that it will stop again.

Sutelra, this is a different issue. We don't disconnect from the game, we can't even get on. We log on, then it goes onto a loading screen until that times out and gives us the unknown error. If I repair enough times, usually twice, it will then work for one or two log ons, then go back to the issue.

Yeah that's the same exact thing that's been happening to me. Except I haven't tried to repair it multiple times yet. I know I can connect at home because I got on for about an hour or so and it was working fine. As soon as I got to school though the error started to happen. I can't mess with the router or anything here if its an issue with that. Even then I'm still able to connect to Guild Wars and other games I have.

Your school's tech department can fix the problem, but they'll need to know which ports to open first.

And no one will tell us the ports.

Please explain. I haven't messed with pc games in the longest time, at least mmos, and I forget a lot of stuff. Honestly at this point I know my early access is shot. The thing that worries me is that some people are losing their bonuses and I don't want that to happen.

I have found out it has something to do with my account. My account is somehow bugged. I tried logging on to my friends computers' who all can play, and it gives me the unknown error, when they can log on and play right away. I am not sure of how to fix this, but I am going to send in an email about the issue.

    Greetings!

A player can access their DxDiag information from The Elder Scrolls Online launcher via the following process:
    Open the ESO Launcher.
Click on the Gear icon in the upper-right hand corner.
    Click the About tab.
    Click the Game Consultant button.
Click Run Test to create the data log.
This function will generate an msinfo, a DxDiag, as well as a pathping in order to fully diagnose the issue at hand. The player will be able to open the report from the Game Consultant, or open the report location so that they can access and move the file itself.

Please note that DxDiag is only a diagnostic tool that collects technical information on computers. It is usually needed by technical support agents to isolate specific issues.

For some reason I have been unable to log into the server, both before and after the update. I input my account info and then get stuck at the loading screen for some time. After about 5 to 10 minutes I get booted back to the log in screen with an error message stating an unknown error has occurred. This has been happening since the early access began.

I have no clue how to read the file that they are talking about.
