Please ZOS rework the aedric spear skill tree to be the official Tank tree for Templars

(Please give constructive feedback if you disagree with something i feel could or should change in order to make this skill tree the tank tree)

Puncturing sweep - instead of it healing based on the amount of damage we do would it be better as a tank to have it heal based on the amount of health we have each time it hits an enemy (allow it to hit multiple enemies)

Focused Charge remove this ability completely turn this ability into the ability you see the vosh devoted “tank” characters in wrothgar.. the one where the npc flies up into the air and lands on you stunning you. Change the animation a bit so you come down holding the spear.. but allow this to be our gap closer lets stun everything in the area of effect... one morph would be great if a percentage of our resources are returned... the other morph you could increase the radius and give it minor brutality or some kind of damage increase for a few seconds

Shards- make luminous shards be our immobilize morph take away the stam and magicka return synergy leave that to the other morph and make this an instant cast rather then a setup and cast

Sunshield - not just our shield but also the ability that provides us with major ward and major resolve (keep a small glowing aura around us so we know this ability is still on us even after the shield breaks) the morph radiant ward can also provide us with minor protection and minor vitality and remove the additional increase in the strength of the shield make keep blazing shield doing what its doing but makeit based on your magicka not your health (channels focuse would have to be turned into something else if this were to be done id like to see channeled focus get a major mending aspect to it)

Radial sweep id like to see this become more of a tanking ultimate... call it aedric armor making our armor glow with aedric light reducing the cost of our magicka and stamina abilities by a large amount (im not sure what would be.a fair amount) with one morph giving us a very large damage shield that applies to other allies in your group the other morph can increase the amount of healing taken for you and 12 of your group members during this time

The cost of this ability would obviously have to go up to match what dks tank ultimate costs.

For the passives

Spear wall should be changed from just melee attacks to melee and ranged

Balanced warrior it would be nice if it included both spell and physical resistance.


Even though this is not a spear skill id like to see reptentance changed into a stamina steal to work exactly like its magicka steal counter part

    Tbh that sounds like the Jump skill from the Dragoon class in just about every FF. I'd actually rather have the Aedric Spear Ult become the second skill, and have that jumping skill become the ult.

    Id be happy with that too i just want that skill line to provide us with more tank beneficial abilities

    The problem with puncturing sweep is not how it heals, but that it has a cast time. Remove cast time, make it a short dot applying minor maim.

    Focused charge is a great skill, especially the explosive charge morph, it does wonders on 2nd boss in fang lair when you have to interrupt because somebody ran too far away.

    Shards - I don't see why it shouldn't return stamina/magicka. I do agree though that immobilization would be nice on it.

    Sun shield - Yes, one of the morphs should scale with magicka, but we already have a skill that provides all those buffs you mention. The 2nd morph should instead add a HP% based heal. The way it works now, no tank with even a remote understanding of the game would waste so much magicka on a shield that absorbs as much damage as a heal that costs less magicka to cast (except if you're a HP stacker, in which case it still isn't warranted unless the shield becomes at least 4x as strong as the heal you would use otherwise).
