I crapped myself when I was disconnected and it said I wasn't allowed on the realm! I thought I was banned or something (i'm very very paranoid)
May I suggest an in game message that pops up on screen saying like 5 minutes until server goes down?

Got me by surprise as well! I am relieved however that its not just my account but the server. like you all said a heads up would of been nice. Just got in from work and logged in only to get booted... not happy0 -
Govalon✭✭✭✭They might not even have a popup for unscgeluded maintances so they just used that one. My theory for bringing servers down so quickly is that they found an exploit that could ruin the game economy forever or something0 -

I hope so. That would work out perfectly for my schedule at least. I work Sat, Sun, Mon, and Tue, and have Wed-Fri off.
Historically in MMO's, early Tuesday mornings are usually picked for maintenance because that is the lowest traffic time.

Torgrim✭Scheduled maintenance during EU prime time on a EU server would not be very nice. But hopefully it is not the correct message at login screen. It also tells me my account doesn't have privilages to login rahter than saying that the server is down.
Seems this game could use some polishing regarding error messages...0 -

Scheduled maintenance at prime time, in the evening, when almost everyone can/wants to play. Grande.
Also, I guess "early access" day 1 for the people who pre-ordered the normal edition is pretty much over and done now. On Twitter they said they expect the servers to be up again "later this afternoon" which would be nighttime for Europeans. Wow.

That error message scared me the most. When it said I didn't have privilege to access the server I thought my account was locked. However, I think either there was a major exploit discovered or there are some bugs that are getting worse/hindering players to the point they had to bring the system down and implement a fix. I know when Beta was ending there was red message in the chat that let us know. I wasn't on when it went down (I logged off to switch to my desktop and found I couldn't log in again), but I'd hope that they would implement something similar when it is about to go down for maintenance.0 -
hopefully when we all start paying monthly it'll grease the engine so to speak and things will go smoothly. the more cash they get the more man power they have to keep it all running smoothly and new content etc. Just had a few hours really liking the starting islands and quests not even in pvp yet so looking forward to it !!!0

korkibucek✭✭✭I noticed all my quests where bugged out in the 15mins prior to the reboot, I also lost this 15mins worth of progress.
So I guess this was an emergency maintenance, otherwise they would not have don't it during busy hours.0
