Argonians are objects to be used. They are a means to an end; a tool for work too menial. Occasionally they are test subjects or wall decorations. They are not a ‘race’ because the term bestows upon them a false sense of equality.

I would actually call them a species. Khajiit also.I know there are a bunch of different races and subspecies for Khajiit some based on when they were born and so forth (senche for example). But I've never seen different races of Argonians.

Imperials, Redguard, and Nords would be different races for humans.

Dunmer, Orsimer, Altmer and Bosmer, of course, are different races of elf.

Bretons are hybrid human-elves although they consider themselves to be human.

Would see argonians as an species rather than race.
Humans, elves and even orcs can dubiously breed.
Khajiit are weird not only for being so unlike baseline but also because of all the forms.
Argonians are way more out of normal as in laying eggs, this would have some issues with crossbreeding

On the other hand Argonians and far more Khajiit are closer to the cultural norm than Bosmer and orcs.

My only issue with argonians is that they should not be able to be vampires.
It look extremely ugly like some summoned an clanfear and armored it.
Khajiit is the only who can pull vampire off without hiding everything behind armor.

We’ve got the canine race, feline race, human race, etc. They are also biological species.
