I had 6, recently deleted two of them that I don't enjoy playing, so now I have two PvE Mains, one of them goes into PvP, a dedicated Healer for Group Content, and then a 4th I don't touch but won't delete cause I kinda like her too much.

So really I practically have two characters.

    StamDK.
Without changing any stats at all (CP, Attributes, Skill points)
    I can craft everything
    I can tank everything.
    I can Dps everything.
I can PvP: Cyro BG Duel

When you love a playstyle you just find the appropriate armors and skills and that is all that you need provided you put the efford to understand your class, the enemy class and the PvE mechanics.

I couldn't play a game with only one character.

Every game I play, I have multiple characters that do different things.

In WoW I had the max 11 characters on my main server, and then another 12 characters spread out over 4 other servers.

I just started playing Path of Exile about 5 weeks ago, and already have 8 characters lol (3 mages/witches, 3 rangers/bowazons, and two fighters). Both the mages and bowazons are fire/cold/lighting, so something different for each one.

I would be bored to death with only one player, and eventually would have to quit that game and play something else.

I've had the same Main Templar since this game started.

tbh I'm just not into Alts lol Sheer laziness is the only reason I don't make more than one character, because Rep Grinds, Skill Grinds, all that *** is just plain annoying man, no matter the game I play.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

I started console launch the goal of only 1. Then the alt itis his hard and I found myself with over extended and broke from golding out all these different builds. I was max Cp in august but I decided to create a new account and start fresh with 1 again. And I happy I did. I only really have time to dedicate to one with my work/family life.

I'm basically the opposite of an alt-aholic. I only ever really play with one character in all the MMO's I've ever played, including this one (Imperial Nightblade).

I did eventually create an Imperial Warden but have hardly played him thus far. I'm still going strong with my Imperial Nightblade. :)

I have played this game for literally years, and have had one, and only one, character. I have progressed slowly, to say the least, because while I very much enjoy the game, I simply do not have the time to play it. I now hit ~30k as a stamblade, which is enough for me, at least for right now. No regrets about having to stay focused.

It's easy and much less time consuming to just have one character. Some people get crazy about their alts and feel like they're missing out if they don't do all the writs on all their characters every day. Before they know it, they're spending multiple hours per day just doing writs. Every hour is 6.25% of your awake time, assuming you sleep for 8 hours per day.

A single stam tank dk since closed beta, subscription year and even nowadays.

I saw the glory days of vamp mg dk emperors soloing 50 people in cyrodiil and their fall , doshia and vet 14 mudcrabs beating up skyrim newbies, rise of magicka sorcs, the constant circle of buffs and nerfs to make either stam or magicka the topdog in pve or pvp and many other stories.

And in the meantime i still do the same thing over and over again. Taunting and tanking in pve and being annoying or piloting siege equipment in cyrodiil and still have as much fun in my first days.
Except slaugherfish, they ruined my fun in the closed beta and they still do it.

I have two mains, one craftplar, and one blockknight. But I only really play the DK to a high level throughout the patch. The rest are more learners. With a shared total of about 24/5k achievement points. I occasionally level others, slap on some easy to get meta gear. Then stop playing them.

I have loads of characters, but can totally see the wisdom behind having one. Part of me would love to just clear out all but my crafter and one more, but I always find myself thinking "ooh, I need a pvp character. Ooh, I need a magicka pve build. Ooh, I need a stamina pvp build." I also develop attachments to my characters, they are my babies and I love them all.

Problem is, I'll never get "top-tier" with any of them, because I keep making more and never play just the one enough! I shall probably be making a pvp nightblade and a pve magsorc later today. Altoholicism has got me good and I need to cut down.

I am so casual that I make normal casuals cringe! -)

I've been here since the start. I closed beta tested with Elondra Numbwit...my usual test character. Once testing was over, on release I created Dolnor Numbwit and I've only been using him ever since. I don't play every day or even every week...there is this thing called "Real Life" (no, it is just a scary story to frighten MMO'ers!) that often gets in the way of my explorations.

Dolnor is NOT: a crafter, a PVP'er, über.
Dolnor is: helpful, explorer, enjoys all the voice overs (including secondary and tertiary voice-overs), bit-of-a-loner.

I still use the first character I made at launch for everything. I did an appearance change once, but it's always been a stamina DD, so no major respecs. I have more characters on my account, but I literally never use them other than during some events to get the things I want. I can't be bothered to log in/out only to get items from other characters, so none of them are mules.

I have tried different classes but I can never get into them. I also hate grinding. The most I've levelled up another character is to lvl 18. I did that in one evening and never touched it again.

I tend to only have one char in every game ever. I still play the same shaman I rolled in 2005 on WoW. Don't have any alts.
In PoE, I reroll more or less the same char every league and have a full list of them at 95-100 on standard.

Here, I'm currently rerolling because after about 400 CP worth of Magblade, I finally decided I don't like it. Gonna give MagDK a go.

I used one StamDK for about a year and a half until I completed all the research work. Despite the additions of new DLCs within that timeframe, I was becoming quite bored or displaced with ESO as I have done practically every contents available. I was practically hanging up ESO for good, but, as a last ditch effort to peak or keep my interest, I decided to broaden out and create a second magsorc toon. I had despise magsorc for a long time, because to be part of the cool kids' club, you have to sport light armor with it, and I did not (and still don't) like light armors. However, I enjoyed the skills and abilities of a sorc quite a bit, and decided thereafter to explore other classes and toons.

Well, going towards three years now with ESO and 15 characters/toons all maxed out from all types and classes, I am glad I had ventured out beyond just that one StamDK toon. That dude is practically just my go-to for crafting, but, I have since enjoyed creating new toons/classes, mix and match weapon skills and styles and whatnot. This current Jubilee/Anniversary event have not been better or enjoyable with being able to do the events with all my different toons.

Thus, pretty much, for those (like I had been), if you're just still rolling with one single toon, you're just missing out. Go ahead, and like me, take that first step and branch out. Create a new toon of another class, and explore that class/toon's abilities and skillsets. ESO is much more enjoyable when you have become versed with all classes and toons.

I use 1 guy (info in my signature). Ive played since launch and started an imperial sorc, once he got to 50 i realized how poor this setup was and started a new race better fitting for sorc. As a single parent and among other life things I probably get 3 hours to play at most a day. I dont know why, but it doesnt get old to me.

Ive tried making more characters, but starting all the way from 0 I just dont care to and never will go through all that again, takes too much of my free time to build up.

    I do.

I made a magplar when I started playing, but didn't enjoy the melee mage playstyle.

When warden came out, I made the switch. I planned to turn my templar into a healer and still use him, but that never happened, so he was respecced into a stamplar and became my fulltime farmer (I don't do any content with him anymore).

Just logging out and into another character takes up an inordinate amount of time, let alone actually gearing out more than one character.
