They should do a discount on store items and not crowns
Well in all honesty ZOS isnt losing out by discounting crowns anyways
Since all the items are virtual. they need to discount the items as well a whole chapter zone and all is 40$ tops but a mansion something smaller than most 4 man dungeons is 60+ dollars. a mount alone can be 20$ to 40$ so yeah things in this game can be expensive the most expensive mount should be no more than 2000 crowns and the biggest house no more than maybe 6000 crowns lol

Can't wrap my mind around how a currency used to buy bound items somehow inflates items purchased with gold. I took a few economics classes for my business admin/ IST degree but damn i'm lost lol.

I voted other, the poll is a bit confusing and biased so no one option fit my opinions. Like a few other respondents I'm an ESO+ subscriber and while I get the included crowns each month, sometimes I like to buy additional crowns. I'm more than happy to buy a large cache of crowns at a discount vs. buying them at full price.

If they stopped doing sales for crowns, they wouldn’t get many sales of crowns. I think most people avoid making big expenditures unless there’s a sale because crown store items are pretty expensive.

If they lowered the base prices of crown store items, though...

Considering that the banker and the merchant cost MORE than the game title itself!!!!..... I think that crowns packs should cost 50% less......at the very least!

    No.

First off, not voting b/c as usual with most of the polls people make the options are bad.

Second, the amount of crowns needed to cause "inflation" in the manner you describe wouldn't happen b/c as many crowns as someone might buy, it won't be enough to cause that. You can look at the history of the store and see that pricing is about the same as it's always been for similar items with them always pushing their luck when they put in big homes and mounts and seeing how much they can milk. They've had over priced items in the store going back for years, before there was even a possibility of people stocking up crowns and buying tons for sales and now there are far, far more ways to spend those crowns with housing and crates.

Yes - because I don't care if it might make things more expensive in the future.
Just go back to the P2P model. It's vastly superior to the current model.

Yeah because no P2P game has a cash shop or in game purchases. ***cough, EA, cough***

Cash shops are here to stay, it is too lucrative for companies to ignore, the benefit is that it is lucrative enough that most companies can then provide their game as F2P or shift to a F2P model which benefits folks unwilling or unable to financially support the game.

It should be clear to all, given how many companies have moved to cash shops that it is more profitable than trying to use a conventional P2P model and of course it's also impacted how the P2P model works as they also now utilize cash shops.

As to the fear that items in the shop will inflate in price if they offer discounted Crowns, that is already happening, the prices of many of those items are already on the high side and I don't see that getting any higher unless they are in a position where they are having to generate more revenue of a smaller base. As long as the game grows or maintains, we should see stable pricing.

The reason i am holding this poll is because someone the other day raised a good point about how flooding the market with cheap crowns just causes inflationary pricing and devalues the crowns themselves and from another angle actually devalue the value of the monthly subscription for Eso plus members. If you want to increase sales you should discount store items not the currency.

I'm confused. First off how the hell are crowns devalued for the subscription if Zos puts them on discount every once in a while? ESO+ members still get:
    • Full access to DLC game packs.
    • Unlimited storage for crafting materials.
    • Double Bank space for your account.
    • 10% increase to Experience & Gold acquisition, Crafting Inspiration, and Trait Research rates.
    • Double Furnishings and Collectibles space in player housing.
    • Exclusive ability to dye costumes.
    • Double currency cap for Transmutation Crystals.

On top of getting 1,500 crowns a month. And yet you want them to stop doing discounts on purchasing crowns and instead discount the store items, which still wouldn't increase sales as most who would buy the discounted items anyway would already be eso+ users; meaning that any discount to the items wouldn't draw in more sales as most eso+ members have quite a bit of crowns saved up to buy everything in one go.

Meanwhile the crown packs themselves are an endorphin rush. Why wait 4 months for 5,500 crowns when the person could buy them now at $40, saving $20 in the process as doing 4 months of the subscription would be $60. Bonus money saved if the crowns are on sale. Because it wouldn't matter if the item in the store is discounted spending $99 to get maybe a 2,000 crown saving on a house looks like a bad deal to those trying to justify the cost. However spending $75 on the biggest pack that is originally $149 during a discount sale? Easier to say 'yes I'm getting a deal' from that.

Then there's the other side where an eso+ member has saved crowns up continuously for, let's say Earthtear Cavern go up for sale in the store, finally see it in the store and find that they are 3,000 crowns short of buying it. And as always with most items like that, it's only up in the store for a limited time, certainly not the two months needed by this member to reach the total they need. But there's the 3,000 crown for $24.99 and oh snap, it's on a discount sale too. So not only has Zos generated income from the member already paying $15 a month, they also got some extra income from them buying the 3,000 crown pack. Something that would not happen if they had discounted the store item.

Also consider the fact that they are adding in gifting in the crown store finally but with conditions that we do not know what they are yet. Discounting crown packs is a great incentive to get people, both eso+ and others to buy a pack in preparation for any new goodies. If I still had friends who played the game, I'd definitely buy the discounted 14,000 or even the 21,000 pack in preparation for the serial gifting that I would be commencing upon them, specially if there was a house a friend was saving up for to give as a surprise present, if gifting houses is allowed.

Agreed. But only if it means store prices will go down significantly and cosmetics get to be earned ingame. Not with cash.

No point going down that road if the other stuff remains.
