What is this thing you call "spare skillpoints"?

“Spare skillpoints” are unallocated skill points on a character.

My main healer has 381 skill points. 14 skill points I don’t have anywhere to put ... unless I started allocating points to stam skills.

You could even max out on thieves guild, legerdemain etc., provided you have enough patience.
You reveal yourself best in how you play.

For the record, I was being a smart ***. My main has 320 skill points all allocated and I'm planning on going out to get another 20 or so for jewelry crafting. My alts that I actually play all have 200+ skill points. Every time I think "this is the last skill point I'll ever need on this character" I find 10 more I want to spend somewhere.

My main has all the crafts pretty much maxed, plus is able to tank, DPS, and heal on a MagDK in PVE and PVP, so it can be done.

Thanks for reply, but that wasn't my question.
I want to know how many skill points it takes to max all crafting skills (including jewelry), and if I choose to do this on an alt, does that alt need combat skills?

I need to know how many skill point to earn before I respec to all crafting...

The answer is 158 total points.

I've maxed out all crafting skills on 9 characters, but I usually put only a point into the keen eye line, so I think you can get away with 10 fewer points which would be 148.

What I've done on my characters is start with combat skills then respec when I've reached max level. The reason for this is it makes it much easier for your skill point quests and skyshard hunting.

I'm CP 720 on all my characters because i get the max amount of gold (663 I think) for each writ I do, which gives me almost 4k per day for each character, 36k per day for all, and 320k+ for the week.

I use the Lazy writ crafter add on to make things easier and I've been getting 54 anniversary boxes per day doing writs.

They may be just a tad bit overkill, lol

It's an excellent bit of information, from an expert in the subject that you're curious about.

oh i agree the info was good.
I was saying have 9 toons fully maxed out and with all crafting professions maxed on all 9 guys... is a little overkill. :)

Based of Tulerus’ picture you need 13-16 skill point to max out jewelry crafting.

Dont forget you also need skill points for the Psijic Order skill line. This skill line will be similar to the Mages and Fighters Guild so it will take another 9 skill points to get all the passives and 10 skill points if you want all the active skills morphed.

So I would try to get around 30 spare skill point before Summerset launches.

Well, overkill for one person may not be that for another.

With the Lazy writ Crafter add on I'm done with all 54 writs in less than 40 minutes a day. That's 320,000 gold every week base cash. That's not counting the odd master writs, surveys, maps, tempers, recipes, etc.

All told I'm making roughly 2 million a week. People in my two trade guilds will tell you that's very conservative, but that's profit, not gross sales.

Plenty of things to spend gold on in the game and when you think you've gotten everything, a new chapter or class comes.

The next one as you know brings jewelry and Psijic Order skill lines and hopefully I'll be ready when they arrive.

    More power to ya...

I'm content with 3 RP characters who don't have 3 coins to rub together between them.

I have 12 right now saved on my main crafter. I still need Imperial city and Sewer which would give me a few more. Also many of the dungeons as I haven't done many of those. Probably going to do Psijic Order on my warden or nightblade

Well frick. Suppose that makes sense. At least i'll get a lot of gold for all of it

Can they be improved though? So I can save my 160 purples to improve to gold

They can be improved, But selling them may not get you want you think it should, prices have dropped, for most jewelry, unless you have the top wanted stuff such like epic Spriggans which has appears to have lost about a third of its value over 6 months.

Look at it logically, jewellery crafting, you can craft crafted set jewellery for crafted sets, and that they are adding 6 new traits to match the 9 traits of gear already, there will be exactly the same amount of skill points required to max out jewellery as woodwork, blacksmith and clothier.
Exactly the same stuff. keen eye, improvement, extraction, multiple research.
I guess they will add jewellery mat nodes only in summerset and they will be farmed en mass from day 1 making the mats rare.

As for maxing out crafting. iirc there is like 396 skill points possible to be in the game atm. They will add loads of new ones in summerset main quest, skyshards and 2 new pub dungeons. So plenty of enough new skill points to max jewellery crafting.
My main, is a tank main, master crafter and I have nearly all the crafting points minus keen eye and research, I still have like 90 skill points unused. I can switch roles as quick as changing gear and respecing CP and attributes.

I have every skill point in the game except all of the PvP ranks (i'm rank 18)
No jewelry crafting only have 5 ranks, yes I expected 10. 3 levels to speed up research rather than 4 since we only have two items

So 20 base, extra for keen eye and hireling

    That is an bumper :(
Would also liked an alchemy hireling, the provision one is useless.
Anyway, then it depend how easy the nodes is to spot for keen eye.

In my opinion, 9 is not overkill, I'm at 15 and feeling like that might be just the right amount. Though I have considered deleting surveys if they are not in Craglorn.

I've been saving up a TON of rings and necklaces for Decon. Judging by the insane amount of groups doing Dolmens this weekend, pretty much everyone has the same idea. Should be able to max Jewelry within minutes

I guess you didn't get the memo. None of the jewelry you are hoarding can be deconstructed.
Only jewelry obtain after Summerset comes out can be deconstructed.

Here's what I post in all my replies here and on Reddit. You don't need every passive to purely craft current crafts

78 skill points for pure crafting out of 394 Total. (72 to have pure + Decon bonuses + Production Bonuses on all)

That's after all research bonuses are refunded, no keen eye (just turn off grass).

And only 11 actual skill points to level them all along the way using just decon for BS-WW-Cloth-Enchanting (23 if you want Decon Bonuses along the way).

So what is Keen Eye for Jewelry anyway?

It will allow us to locate "seams" easier.

I like keen eye and use it for wood, ore, clothing and alchemy. Didn't bother with enchanting since the runes themselves kinda glow. I only use 1 point which is good enough for me.

Plan on putting 1 point in keen eye for jewelry as well unless the seams have a glow effect like the rune stones do.
