How many skill points will be required to max out jewelry crafting.

and as a side question, how many skill points are required to max out the 6 current trades?

Also, is it viable to do all crafting skills on 1 alt?
Will that alt need any combat skills?

I want to know how many skill points it takes to max all crafting skills (including jewelry), and if I choose to do this on an alt, does that alt need combat skills?

I need to know how many skill point to earn before I respec to all crafting...

    You could try...counting them yourself!

I'm not sure exactly how many but my NB has DW/bow all maxed out, all crafting maxed out (still doing research), armor and all the other important skills and I still have 14 points not assigned that I'm saving for jewel crafting.

I've also gone skyshards hunting and am doing pvp ranks to get even more point.

So yes, you can max out crafting and still have plenty of points for skills but you will have to go skyshards hunting.

I answered your viability question, because I wasn't in game. 147 skill points for all crafting passives.

If jewelry is done the same way blacksmithing, etc are it'll be 26 skill points. If its the same as enchanting it'll be 23.

@Smokewood, to answer your other question ... that wasn't your main question and wasn't your side question:

It's definitely viable to max out crafting on an alt and still have skill points for combat. The new skill points added in Summerset will push the total skill points available in the game to over 400.

Unless one of the beta testers that traveled to Bethesda can remember the total skill points for jewelry crafting, you're going to have to patiently wait until the PTS drops ... to find out the exact number.

@Chufu has an article which shows how many Skyshards (SP) and the crafting skill line.

Take note it's all alpha (demo build) information though so very subject to change over what we will see released come June.

Ok it only go to 5, and the first is free, jeweler only goes to 3, so 10 total, perhaps on or two in keen eyes depending on how easy they are to spot.

yeah, same for my main. She's stam dps vampire, she has some skill points into the Alliance skills and passives, lots in armor so to make to most the Undaunted passives, and maxxed on all crafting. She has some skyshard left to get in Cyro, in enemy territories and behind enemy gates, and I could still do a ton of pvp on her and get points form ranking up, but as it stands, unless the expansion gives us lots of new skill points, I will have to max out jewelry crafting on a toon other than my main crafter. And I'm not too happy with that given how ZOS finds ways to punish you via crappy master writ drops for not having your crafters have everything. (Plus I'm sure ZOS will find another way to make maxxing out this skill line essential.)

I decided to just find out as I go.
I have spent 7 skill points into combat and can see myself spending maybe 2 more on combat.
Then I am going to just dump every point into crafting until I max them all.
Then I'll see how many I have left over to add more combat skills, if necessary .

    Thanks all
  • mike_skleinub17_ESO
Worst comes to worst, I can just "retire" my DK crafter from normal play and just use her for crafting. I have another DK I don't really play because in the beginning I made one char for each alliance.

At least all players will be starting out even using the same mats. Since high level players will have to level the crafting. Being able to craft items that are below their level right away, I can see players using every new piece of jewelry for decon probably for the first couple of weeks.

Might be possible to make a lot of gold from selling the new jewelry drops no matter what zone or set they are from.

I need to know how many skill point to earn before I respec to all crafting...

The answer is 158 total points.

I've maxed out all crafting skills on 9 characters, but I usually put only a point into the keen eye line, so I think you can get away with 10 fewer points which would be 148.

What I've done on my characters is start with combat skills then respec when I've reached max level. The reason for this is it makes it much easier for your skill point quests and skyshard hunting.

I'm CP 720 on all my characters because i get the max amount of gold (663 I think) for each writ I do, which gives me almost 4k per day for each character, 36k per day for all, and 320k+ for the week.

I use the Lazy writ crafter add on to make things easier and I've been getting 54 anniversary boxes per day doing writs.

Yes, but in the most recent stream (PAX) they made hints at how expensive it would be because they still want gold jewellery to primarily come from trials.

How much we read into that is on us though, we will need PTS to know for sure.

Look at it logically, jewellery crafting, you can craft crafted set jewellery for crafted sets, and that they are adding 6 new traits to match the 9 traits of gear already, there will be exactly the same amount of skill points required to max out jewellery as woodwork, blacksmith and clothier.
Exactly the same stuff. keen eye, improvement, extraction, multiple research.
I guess they will add jewellery mat nodes only in summerset and they will be farmed en mass from day 1 making the mats rare.

As for maxing out crafting. iirc there is like 396 skill points possible to be in the game atm. They will add loads of new ones in summerset main quest, skyshards and 2 new pub dungeons. So plenty of enough new skill points to max jewellery crafting.
My main, is a tank main, master crafter and I have nearly all the crafting points minus keen eye and research, I still have like 90 skill points unused. I can switch roles as quick as changing gear and respecing CP and attributes.

I have every skill point in the game except all of the PvP ranks (i'm rank 18)
