Ignore those P2W parrots. I left a F2P game because it became a grind fest like all the Korean MMOs to be honest, and also became a P2W, people bought stuff, chars on the internet, very first day had more things than I could achieve in years and belive me I was a hardcore player. But there were thing you can't just get by grinding like special items where hundreds of people are participating for a Raid Boss and maybe 1 can get a special jewellery. And they put all the special items inside a loot box(Tarot cards). Damn be happy you don't have items in the Crown Crates. Once you experience a true P2W game can't say any bad word about the Crown Store.

^^This. I play a mobile P2W game myself...and you cant even compare the 2. In a P2W game, the free players are just farms for the payers...this is the blunt truth...you CANT WIN IF YOU DONT PAY with pay-to-win. Here on ESO all you can buy is cosmetic items. Expansions and DLC are just added content...I dont consider paying an extra $40 a year pay to win...that is a whopping 10 CENTS PER DAY to have access to new content. Maybe instead you would rather pay $40 on a new game that has 20 hours of content? You are paying either way...if you play games, you will either play this game or others, or some combination of them...you are certainly spending more than $40 a year either way(on a true pay to win game there are players than spend upwards of $200 PER WEEK)

Fun, you win fun if you pay.

Summerset is obviously not P2W like you see in so many free phone apps and many of the cheesy free to play games that are everywhere. Expansions are common to any mainstream MMO that has been out longer then a year.

Where I struggle with ESO chapters is that in my view they are simply no where close to what I would call an expansion. I have bought many an expansion over the years in different MMOs and the difference between others (GW2, WoW, Rift, etc.) is miles apart from what ESO chapter offers.

I was happy to be an ESO plus member so I could support the game and get to play any new content that came out. I would have happily purchased what I consider a real expansion if they came along. For me chapters are simply DLCs that my ESO+ does not cover nor the crowns that I have.

I realize majority of players will happily buy Summerset, just like they bought Morrowind and that is great but I simply do not see the value in the chapters myself.

Lol, yeah, I guess that’s true for anything that people pay to do for fun. Ranging from buying the base video-game all the way to bungee jumping, I guess...

    Yes. Bungee-jumping is now P2W.

I wish Summerset really was a P2W. Because I already bought it.

But I’ll probably still be bad.

So it could be called pay to scrub?

It’s really a pay to have something to do.

Unlike the Warden this is the kind of P2W I can get behind. I can still play my main and I don't have to level and entirely new character
