IOW, people have different ways of having fun and if they want to spend their discretionary income on NPCs in a game, that's their choice. Makes them no more foolish than, say, someone going out and getting absolutely snockered. At least the NPC purchase won't give you a hangover. Buyer's remorse perhaps, but no hangover.

My time is valuable to me and the amount of time I save having an on-hand banker is absolutely worth 5000 crowns.

I just wish he could access my guild stores and guild banks. I'll take what I can get, though.

I would like them but they are far too expensive when I have to buy my crowns for cash. If price was reduced I would buy them

I don't drink, and I spend very little on the vice that I do have. Yes that one. Not sure if saying it will get me banned. And a night blowing £50+ getting plastered is pretty foolish IMO. Just coz it's the culture doesn't mean it's not stupid.

Theme Parks? Nah. I have games.

Cinnema? When I really wanna see something.

But all of these cost a lot of money to produce or maintain. And ESO gives the odd free quest that almost certainly cost more to make.

I'll just reiterate the point and then move on.

What you consider "foolish" isn't the universal definition. Others really enjoy this aspect and that does not make them foolish.

As some folks above noted, buy coins when they are on half-price sale. Then the cost isn't quite such a huge impact.

So I came back to ESO i february 2017. Got my ESO+ because of the crafting bag and access to DLC (worth every penny just for the crafting bag). On top of that, 9K crowns to buy stuff.

The merchant and banker (bought for crowns I got when I paid for ESO+ i.e. almost free) has made the game more enjoyable for me due to ease and timesaving.

whether you get free crowns for eso plus or just buy crowns: crowns cost real money. I would NEVER buy ESO Plus were it not for the fact that a month of ESO+ is the same price as 1500 crowns and you get 1500 crowns with ESO Plus.

I buy ESO Plus when I need crowns for DLC.

Endless farming is your reward for spending crowns.

Use them a lot and glad i used the crowns on them.

not everyone wants to farm endlessly. A lot of people just wanna do the single player stuff in the few hours they have to spare after work.

if you're happy paying a monthly subscription regardless of the crown income. Not everyone wants to do that.

I normally only do single player content when I play except occasionally pledges on weekends. I don't have the banker or merchant. You don't need them to play single player content. And you've said you only want them for your house anyway, not following you, so you'd use them even less. I do wish they weren't nearly $50 apiece (which is still crazy to me) but I function fine without them.

OP, not only they are expensive, they have a freaking AI assigned making them wandering around, so you are forced to chase them!

There are many threads about, do a research you'll see, @ZOS seems to not care to correct issues though.

Not to mention when the banker interface suddenly closes!

So this my suggestion to you and anyone thinking to buy the assistants: if you are not in a dire need of them, don't buy these products! That kind of price is not only high, it's insulting for unfixed products.

The price seems about right for the convenience, I do wish they were full featured though.

The merchant SHOULD repair.

The banker SHOULD allow access to guild banks and stores.

The fence SHOULD not function any differently than the regular fence, but as it's free, I get why they crippled it.

yeah, but you don't pay for "PC Gold" on top of your internet acess just to play online, I bet you too take full advantage of ridiculous Steam Sales and I'm pretty sure you'd get a free Nexus mod over a ridiculously priced CC mod.

The point is that console gamers often seem happy to throw their money at stuff that we get for free, stuff that people shouldn't have to pay for.

PC hardware is more expensive but a lot of things we get are better and either cheaper or free. We're not as wasteful with our cash so to have a PC gamer defend such high prices of relatively cheap to make conveniences is shocking to me.
