You do understand this game has level scaling, right?
The only point of resetting level would be for people who play the lowbie PvP campaign, and the reason they play that campaign is because you *don't* have access to all skills and CP
There is a reason for low level huge buff, and it's primarily that you don't have skill points for all of your skills and passives. If you have all of your skills and passives and the buff on top of that, well, now we have a big problem...
I don't see the point.

I saw it as an option to appease the many people who complain about "missing" skill points from DLC or who want to run a new DLC intro without having to create a new character. Myself, I would just delete and start over but I thought this would be a reasonable option for some.

They could just let players run the intro quest. No deleveling would be needed. Just an NPC to talk to.

Sorry, I must be explaining this badly. I understand your point but what I am saying is you have your skill points but you can "not" use them in a skill until you are at an appropriate level.

Even so, while you are levelling, the skills/passives you may acquire are much more than the skill points you actually have. For example, I have now a lev 21 stamplar: I have 8 free skill points, and 38 abilities/passives (without taking into account the useless ones, or the ones for crafting) where I could use them (maybe more, since for some passive where I now have 0 skill points I could probably use two of them). If I could use 38 skill points just now, my character would be much more powerful than a normal levelling toon.

Why don't we ask for an option to reset a characters level to 1 instead. You would be able to maintain all training, skill points and cp but would be able to run new content from the start. It seems like this would be an a reasonable solution to most of the related complaints i have seen. Does anyone see a reason this wouldn't be a feasible solution?

One thing I've always thought would be good is linked characters
So I get a character to cp160 and I struggle with acheivement cos I need to respect but my build just isn't designed to meet that spec efficiently...
I can create a new character, link it to my old and now I can rerun all the content pick up missing achievements but have the advantage of having the skill points and achievement from my first character and as an added bonus the overland content is also harder giving me a challenge and the option to run those story missions with named rewards at max level just to show off as collected
With exact same skills, passives, CP, mundus, etc with same gear at respective levels, a level 10 is much stronger than a level CP160+strangeradnd wrote: »

There is a buff taking count that at low level, you
- outlevel your gear very fast
- don't have many skills/attributes points
- don't spend time to farm your gear
Just look at your stats with white gear of your level when you're level 10.
Now do the same with a CP160+ and notice the big difference.
i fail to understand how this is a solution, im not one of the complainers, but since its all scaled to 160 CP why the need to reset to lvl 1, reset or redo quests that i could understand, dont want it but i could understand that argument.
