Why Not an Option to Reset a Characters Level

I constantly see threads with people wanting more slots or missing skills points because of changes to the game. Why don't we ask for an option to reset a characters level to 1 instead. You would be able to maintain all training, skill points and cp but would be able to run new content from the start. It seems like this would be an a reasonable solution to most of the related complaints i have seen. Does anyone see a reason this wouldn't be a feasible solution?

Sure, there would be plenty of twinks playing at level 10 with top golden gear and maxed skills and having the low level buff on top of that.

I'm sure the low level PvP lifers would love that, but that's probably not the case for the noobies in the low level campaign.

At level 10 you can only use level 10 gear so not much of a problem. Currently cp are already usable so I don't see the difference.

Level requirements would still need to be met for gear and skills so how does hurt?

You do understand this game has level scaling, right?

The only point of resetting level would be for people who play the lowbie PvP campaign, and the reason they play that campaign is because you *don't* have access to all skills and CP

I was thinking mostly for PvE purposes as that is where most of the complaints come from. How is it different than a 720cp starting a new character? Riding skills are the only big change I see as all level requirements would still be in place. If a skill doesn't open until level 50 you wouldn't be able to use until level 50.

There is a reason for low level huge buff, and it's primarily that you don't have skill points for all of your skills and passives. If you have all of your skills and passives and the buff on top of that, well, now we have a big problem...

Sorry, I must be explaining this badly. I understand your point but what I am saying is you have your skill points but you can "not" use them in a skill until you are at an appropriate level.

I saw it as an option to appease the many people who complain about "missing" skill points from DLC or who want to run a new DLC intro without having to create a new character. Myself, I would just delete and start over but I thought this would be a reasonable option for some.

They could just let players run the intro quest. No deleveling would be needed. Just an NPC to talk to.

I thought about that, if they nerf you enough for the quest it would work. Otherwise a level 50 cp 720 running through might be a little overkill,

Even so, while you are levelling, the skills/passives you may acquire are much more than the skill points you actually have. For example, I have now a lev 21 stamplar: I have 8 free skill points, and 38 abilities/passives (without taking into account the useless ones, or the ones for crafting) where I could use them (maybe more, since for some passive where I now have 0 skill points I could probably use two of them). If I could use 38 skill points just now, my character would be much more powerful than a normal levelling toon.

Understood, I know it wouldn't be a perfect solution and I did consider this fact and didn't think it would make that much of an overall difference. It may be a bad idea, that is why I threw it out here, to get feedback. Thanks for taking the time to consider it, especially since I put less consideration into the PvP aspect than the PvE side.

One thing I've always thought would be good is linked characters

So I get a character to cp160 and I struggle with acheivement cos I need to respect but my build just isn't designed to meet that spec efficiently...
I can create a new character, link it to my old and now I can rerun all the content pick up missing achievements but have the advantage of having the skill points and achievement from my first character and as an added bonus the overland content is also harder giving me a challenge and the option to run those story missions with named rewards at max level just to show off as collected

Not something I had considered, I will have to think about that idea.

At level 10 you can only use level 10 gear so not much of a problem. Currently cp are already usable so I don't see the difference.
With exact same skills, passives, CP, mundus, etc with same gear at respective levels, a level 10 is much stronger than a level CP160+

There is a buff taking count that at low level, you
    - outlevel your gear very fast
    - don't have many skills/attributes points
    - don't spend time to farm your gear

Just look at your stats with white gear of your level when you're level 10.

Now do the same with a CP160+ and notice the big difference.

This may be, I can honestly say I have never looked at the difference in this case. I have only seen the difference when using a high CP on a low level character.

i fail to understand how this is a solution, im not one of the complainers, but since its all scaled to 160 CP why the need to reset to lvl 1, reset or redo quests that i could understand, dont want it but i could understand that argument.

This is reasonable as well. I was just looking for options as it honestly does not effect me. I was just throwing out an idea based on the multitude of threads looking for a way to fix things people fell slighted by.
