I can only assume that the people happy about this event are from NA.

As a European, Zenimax can shove this up their "Mechanical Fundament" [no flame here ZOSbods just dropping a name of one of your sub-zones] as I have been unable to participate due to the ongoing and, totally ineffectual, maintenance.
I am beginning to understand some of the big hate aimed at the developers and their talking heads about their utter smugness and indifference towards players across the water.

    /so sad

    P
Pretty much this, writing this failing to log in, granted weekend worked decently and the mantance has been during work hours, imagine how it must be for Asia, :(
Else it has been good, not as fantastic as last year or then I got rich, logging in and getting +100 K every day, think prices are lower now.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I'm opposite opinion to all of the above.

I find the event frustrating and bringing on an almost anxiety like feeling.
This is due yo the limited time only drop of the Worm Cult motif. For those people who are trying to collect them all, most will not succeed in completing this style this year due to the low drop rate. Call me a cynic but I believe the motif will be released on the Crown store 'for a limited time only for 5000 crowns, down from 6000, so be quick!'.

The sheer number of motifs dropping is crashing the price of these. Good for buyers, bad for sellers. I guess its to help new players catch up?

Plus I hate doing dailies, find them so boring and repetitive, especially when forced into doing them if one wants the WC motif.

Orrrrr... you could just not do the dailies and buy the WC motifs you're missing? As you yourself said, it's a great time for buyers right now.

Why people insist they're forced into this kind of thing will always be beyond me.

LOLOL, ok some of obviously aren't as rich as you Mr Gold Pockets.

Us people ARE forced into doing dailies 24/7. If you looked on traders you would see the astronomical price of these WC chapters.

Its all the other motifs that have plummeted.

You have options, when options are available you’re not being “forced” to do anything. It’s nobodys fault but your own if you haven’t farmed enough gold.

OK good one, let me preempt everything ZoS does so I have enough gold to buy everything ever anytime.

All limited time motifs dropped in previous events were much more common, this low drop rate is obviously here to set us up for a Crown Store purchase for those people who want to complete it who haven't managed it in time within game.

I'm having fun in friendly competition with guildies on who can do more dailies. :-P

As Nestor said, also stocking up on Nirncrux, Perfect Roe and rare trait stones.

I'm not too stressed out at not getting all the Worm Cult pages because I understand it was supposed to drop in a dungeon in the future? Either way, we still have a week to go, so I'm sure I'll be nearly complete with the help of guildies I'm trading motif pages with.

Does a gone actually like the Worm cult style is the real question, most collectors are just in a Frenzy.

This and mid summer madness are my favorite events, rewarding us for stuff we do anyway. REALLY unsure why people are moaning about Worm, the drop rate has been good for many, and you don't NEED it.

And if desperate just buy your missing pieces.

I'm doing the 6 writs a day i normally do then look for the towns with fights in Cyrodiil have a few scraps and a few quests.

Anyone that grinds content then moans they didn't enjoy an event is there own fault!

Free stuff is good, it's the only way I'm ever going to get transmute crystals so I'm loving this.

32 dailies ? Blimey I'd have to quit my job to get all those done !

    * login in mages guild in elden root. Grab quest
    * run out of guild, grab writs, do enchanting work around the room clockwise.
    * Run to undaunted, grab delve quest.
    * Turn in provisioning quests
    * Run to shrine -total time about 10 minutes( i deconstuct, check research, bank items, repair, vendor stuff at blacksmith)

    * Do which ever quest is furthest from a shrine.
    * As soon as quest is done, gold port back to shrine for other quest
    * Run other quest, travel to shrine, port to elden root
    * Turn in undaunted first.
    * Run to mage guild, turn in.
    * Gold port from mages guild( it should be reset to 146 gold by now) to hews bane. - Time for this section about 15 minutes.

    * grab riding skills at stablemaster.
    * grab quest from spencer
    * go in thieves den to heist board
    * grab heist and blitz it
    * turn in heist run out sewer grate.
    * do which ever quest( shark tooth takes the longest and it takes me exactly 7 minutes to do it)
    * gold port or run back and run to turn in.
    * Port to kvatch- 15 minutes for this section

    * check WB quest board. whichever i dont have ask for in zone.
    * do WB while in group ask for CG or BE.
    * Turn in WB quest pick up WB quest. Share with group drop and make my own group
    * Share WB with zone while i do it.
    * Turn in WB and run delve quest. If i have folly and CG i run them together before i turn either in.
    * Share delve quest with zone while i run it. turn in and check board.
    * If i have the other quest run it and share with group and zone. If not ask in zone for it. Clean out inventory if i have to wait on a share( usually not more than 2 min)
    * Run last gold coast quest. turn in.
    * Port to Ald'ruhn - Total time for this section about 25 minutes.

    *grab quests in Ald'ruhn.
    * do the one closest to a shrine first.
    * run back to shrine port to other quest.
    * Run quest, gold port back to ald'ruhn
    * turn in quest, port to vivec temple. grab delve quest in HoJ
    * Port to delve, run it. gold port back to vivec temple.
    * Turn in quest.
    * Port to elden root, run to mages guild, make sure i opened all my boxes.
    * Login second character - total time for this section: 25-30 minutes.

Total number of boxes gathered: 17
Total time spent: about 1.5 hours x 2 = 34 quests in 3 to 3.5 hours or a single evening. If you have more characters to craft on you can hit really big numbers. I can do all writs in 5 minutes and turn in if im in the right city. If you have 6 characters and it takes you 10 minutes to do writs and turn them in and switch to a new character thats 36 boxes in an hour right there.

OK well good luck trying to sell them all and make your millions in the last few days.

People are still buying motifs. But, you see, i dont NEED the WC motif. i could care less if i have it or not. The only reason i own motifs myself is to do master writs. I dont care about Elder Fashion Show Online. I would also bet dollar to donuts that the motif will be available in summerset isles.

I will stick all my motifs in storage chests in my house until the event is over. Ill go through and use all the ones i need. The rest i will leave sit there along with any others i acquire over the next 2 months. When i get back from vacation in mid june after Summerset has been out for a couple of weeks, i will check prices.

By then, with all the new players and the market having time to stabilize, motif prices should be up around pre event prices, possibly higher. Then ill start selling them off slowly as to not flood the market. Since its likely that WC will be part of Summerset the price of it will come down, and ill farm what i need or pick it them up for a song compared to current prices. If it becomes an event exclusive, ill wait till next year, i lived without the motif for 40 years, im pretty sure im not going to die waiting one more for it.

Last year's Anniversary Jubilee was the best event they'd ever done, largely because it rewarded us for doing things we'd likely do anyway by giving us some of the rare rewards that can be really frustrating to get. It made us feel appreciated and created a lot of good will by taking the edge off of some of those rarities.

So, of course, they go and replicate the event but with the addition of a rare item that can only be gotten during the event.

To take a their single best event and then kick the legs out from under what made it great? I swear, ZOS must have someone whose job title is "Senior Executive in Charge of Ruining Things."

I'm not sure I understand the problem. Adding a new unique motif to the event is a bad thing? Why?

I don't think I was even remotely unclear in what I was saying, so I find I mistrust your confusion.

The event, when done right, was a break from all the hyper-rarity. It made players feel appreciated to have an opportunity to beat some of the low droprates in the game. Adding in a new hyper-rarity completely undercuts what made the event great.

There was no pressure in last year's event because every single thing you got was a bonus. There was nothing to collect and no reason for frustration. There was no good reason to be disappointed by a bad box. There was no timeline to race, no insane droprate to try to beat. It was just... nice. Adding in a new limited-time motif with a preposterously-poor droprate violated all of that.

Last year was "Not everything has to be this way. Some times we can just show our appreciation and be nice." This year was "Psych!"
You have reason to mistrust my confusion. I'm just not sure where all this pressure and frustration is coming from. I'm not feeling any pressure or frustration. I don't measure my satisfaction by number of WC motifs I've found. I accept that I'll most likely find some and buy the rest. On the other hand, I've found more motifs in the past few days than i do in a typical 6 month period, which is something I'm pretty happy about. I've gotten tons of crafting materials which I could probably sell to purchase the missing WC motifs if I want (i won't because hoarding).

As for the preposterous drop rate, TTC currently has 12,510 WC motif pages listed. First half of them are from 5k to 70k and they're getting cheaper every day. Keep in mind, TTC does not represent all of the motifs available in game, plenty of people (myself included) are saving spare WC motif pages to sell in a few months.Seems like a reasonable drop rate to me.

So I stand by my original statement, "I'm not sure I understand the problem. Adding a new unique motif to the event is a bad thing? Why?"

Your question's not really a valid response. Nothing's wrong with a new motif, but that has little to do with any of my points.

I'll simplify this as much as I can: The best part of the event is bypassing grinds, so adding a grind defeats the spirit of the event.

A new motif doesn't have to equal a grind.

I'd just like to take the time to thank you and say that I've thoroughly enjoyed the anniversary event thus far. The rewards are awesome, zones (with dailies) are alive, full of chatter, people joining groups and sharing quests. While doing dailies, I find myself re-exploring zones that I have completed several times and enjoying them all over. I'm excited to log in every day and see what rewards the day will reap.

What are some of the things you have enjoyed during this event?

First of all, would you stop thanking them for doing their job.

We are the ones that keep them fed, they should be thanking us, not the other way around.

I'd thank a doctor if he saves my life, even though it's his job. Nothing wrong with thanking people for doing their job well.

A new motif doesn't have to equal a grind.

So you reckon, it's ok to add a new reward to an event but rather than grind for it, they should just give everyone the motif for logging on during the event?

Again, this is not a forced grind event, you chose to see it that way and that's purely on you. I see it as me getting awesome rewards for doing they type of thing I would typically be doing anyways. As for the "spirit of the event", once again we disagree. I see this event as ZOS thanking players for their continuing support of the game by giving us increased rewards for playing the game.

I'm sorry that this event is stressful for you but I hope to see more unique rewards like the WC motif in future events.

As a side note, the cynic in me also sees this event as a way to spread awareness for daily quests (end game content) so that people who maybe weren't doing them before will start doing them and in-turn stick with ESO for longer. As long as they can keep players logging on to repeat the dame content every day, the urgency to release new content in lessened.
